Equipment for silver carp for bottom fishing. Instructions for high-quality assembly of tackle “silver carp killer. Subtleties of bottom equipment

Some time ago, fishing for silver carp was considered not a very promising occupation. However, recently, when a variety of rigs focused specifically on this fishing began to appear, the number of fans of quiet hunting for this fish has greatly increased. And today, for many, the most exciting fishing is precisely the tackle, and at the same time, it must be very reliable, since the bites of this fish are very strong.

silver carp fish

Fishermen consider the process to be exciting, in which, if they are lucky, a very solid trophy awaits them. To catch this inhabitant of the reservoirs, a hook, a feeder, as well as any carp sticks are used, but always with a good carrying capacity.

To attract this fish, many use such a beloved silver carp lure as boiled peas at home. To make the bait effective, it is necessary to cook this legume culture before the final boiling, so that it resembles mashed potatoes with its consistency.

Silver carp is a schooling fish that does not breed in some climatic zones of our country. It feeds on phytoplankton - microscopic algae. If future prey prefers to feed on the top, then the nozzle must be fed to it so that it always swims directly at the surface of the reservoir. For this, water-filled balls or floats are used, a leash made of an inconspicuous fishing line, having a length of up to one and a half meters.

Season

Usually they start catching silver carp at the end of May, and finish in September. The best bite falls on the period from mid-June to the end of July. At night, this fish rarely bites, although bites are not excluded. She starts pecking quietly and reluctantly at six in the morning. But already from eight o'clock to twelve, you must not forget to loosen the reel friction. Then the bite abruptly fades and until the end of the day has an average frequency of one or two times per hour.

Location selection

Those who know what is best to fish on private waters in which swims a large number of fish and very little vegetation, in a word, where there is a lack of food supply. Fishing for silver carp is also optimal in relatively small, rocky reservoirs, where it is easier to find a flock. It is also important that they have a minimum population of crucian carp, which constantly pecks, making it difficult to catch a really big prey.

In general, a place for fishing must be selected according to the following criteria:

  • on rocky, sandy or clay bottom;
  • in depth - no more than 4 meters;
  • against the wind.

At the same time, the bait in the spring in the gear for the silver carp should be free of defects, and the leash and hook should be very thin and durable. Many professionals know that this fish does not bite in calm. And one more thing: tackle on the silver carp should always be thrown at one point, and the bait in the spring should be changed more often than once in half an hour. When casting, you can not drag the bait along the bottom or pull it up when it is lowered. The "cloud" from the spring should remain above it.

The rod should be designed specifically for such fishing with casting from 60 g and not shorter than 3.6 meters. If it gets shorter, then the number of gatherings increases, because when playing, this rather strong fish likes to make unexpected jerks. In anticipation of a bite, you can almost completely relax the reel friction so that if you are lucky, there will be no significant stretch. At the same time, strong undercutting is not required: it is necessary to simply pull the equipment with effort, without making a slack. The rod in the tackle for the silver carp is not the most important part of it, so the fishermen are free to choose it, but the fishing line must be carp in size of 0.3 or 0.35 mm. The rod is most often chosen with rings. The only requirement for it is sufficient power, which allows not only long-range casting of tackle on the silver carp, but also displaying fairly large specimens.

Design

The first leash should be about 15 cm long. It is tied to the swivel behind the bend. The second - two or three times shorter - is fixed on the fishing line approximately 5 cm above the upper outlet edge. The third, about the same size as the first, is another quarter meter taller.

The silver carp takes the bait from any of the three leashes, but the largest individuals are caught on the first one. On the other two bites, although they happen relatively more often, they catch smaller fish. Hooks on bottom gear for silver carp should be as sharp as possible, while being powerful, but light. Nozzles can be used in a variety of ways: Hungarian corn with any smell, including the aroma of caramel or vodka, green peas or the pulp of young cattail.

on a silver carp

Many professionals know the peculiarity of the structure of the jaw of this fish. Her lower jaw sticks out a little forward, and therefore it is clear that she cannot take a position perpendicular to the bottom in order to take a nozzle from there. It is clear that it is not possible to catch this fish from the bottom. This explains the fact that the tackle on the silver carp is more like the floor. Ideally, you can use the carp option. Gear for silver carp must be very powerful, because adults reach a weight of 30 or more kilograms. And if the equipment fails, then in the fight against such a large specimen, the fisherman's chances will be small. It is also necessary to take into account the fact that fishing for silver carp is a physical matter. strong man, because he strongly resists when playing, especially at the initial stage.

"Bighead Killer"

Tackle with such a characteristic name is the most common today. At the same time, many professional fishermen make it with their own hands, not trusting the store's choice. The "silver carp killer" is made taking into account all the structural features of the mouth of future prey and the principle of its nutrition. The bait for this tackle is technoplankton, a product designed specifically for catching this fish. For silver carp, it is better to buy light-colored lure, which quickly soaks in stagnant water.

The "silver carp killer" looks like a "barrel" with compressed lure. A hole is made along its axis in the center to fix it on the "silver carp stick". In this case, the rod must be very strong, and a shock leader must be attached to it. Its presence makes it possible, when casting, not to cut off the main line.

DIY

This float gear appeared recently, but has already proven itself quite well. The only drawback is the bulky design. A special feature is the float, which has quite impressive dimensions. Many people prefer to make this part of the gear for a silver carp with their own hands from wire or from a bicycle knitting needle. The design must have two or more leashes

In general, collecting tackle for a silver carp is quite simple. To do this, insert into a float designed for fishing nets, 15 cm anti-twist made of plastic, on which a swivel is first put on.

After that, a shock leader is threaded through it, to which a sinker weighing 60 or 80 g is attached. Then a 20-centimeter leash is attached to the swivel and a silver carp stick made of a bicycle knitting needle is attached to the latter.

Amateur anglers use not only professional gear on their fishing trips, but also home-made rigs, which are distinguished by their catchability and ease of manufacture. This is especially true for those who catch popular inhabitants of our reservoirs such as carp, grass carp or crucian carp, because everything has long been invented and improved to catch them.

When you see an amateur angler in a bike shop, you should not be surprised, because he probably came in to buy bicycle spokes from which the frame is made, or the so-called trempel for catching silver carp. Yes, yes, there is no contradiction here, because bottom tackle for silver carp is considered no less popular than equipment with a float for catching this fish from the surface.

Even 10–15 years ago, it was believed that you could catch a silver carp only on nets or nonsense, since this fish, although it belongs to the carp family, does not feed like its relatives. The nutritional features of the "fat" are such that it moves in the water column with its mouth open and swallows small particles called plankton.

Traditional carp or crucian tackle is not suitable for catching silver carp, as it does not suck up the bait, but with its mouth apparatus sips everything that is in the immediate vicinity and is especially interested in areas with muddy water rich in natural plankton.

Tackle evolution

The first step towards creating an effective tackle for catching silver carp was the invention of technoplankton, which, when soaked in water, forms a cloud of dust and turbidity that attracts curious fish.

Tablets or kegs of technoplankton are compressed grain waste, previously ground into the finest flour. Initially, this mixture was intended to feed fish and pets, but over time, lovers of targeted silver carp fishing began to use it in their sessions.

Agree, at the moment of complete bitelessness, the fishermen were very sad to watch how inaccessible multi-kilogram “packs” of trophy silver carps were moving under the very surface of the water, because the gear for catching them had not yet been invented.

With the advent of technoplankton, the idea arose to catch the “fat” by attracting him to the fishing place using the “dusty” effect of the bait. But attracting fish is only half the battle, because you also need to find a suitable hook attachment, and mount a rig that provides good catches.

Since it was possible to study the behavior of the silver carp only when it swam near the surface of the water, the first installations were equipped with powerful floats that held technoplankton bars in the upper layers. To fix the bars, the so-called trempels were constructed from bicycle spokes, which have both rigidity and strength, and even have a screw connection with a metal cap.

Note: A bicycle knitting trempel is really the most efficient option and it is used even in the industrial production of frames for technoplankton. But if necessary, it will not be difficult for the angler to make such a frame with his own hands, even without the use of special devices and tools.

The process, as they say, went on and the first silver carps caught from the surface proved the catchability of the tackle, even if small specimens of curious fish came across on the hook.

But as you know, trophy fish prefer to stay away from the attentive eyes of fishermen, and besides, the nutrient mass (phytoplankton) necessary for the life of the “silver carp” is mostly located near the bottom.

Therefore, the question arose of creating bottom gear for silver carp using technoplankton or other bait that effectively attracts fish to hooks.

In general, before that there were cases when silver carp was caught on the feeder, especially when using dusty fine baits. But it was rather an exception to the rule, especially since it is not at all easy to bring a silver carp weighing 10–15 kilograms onto a thin feeder leash.

The first to try was the classic silver carp fish, but its use did not give the expected effect, especially since when catching and playing trophy fish with your hands, the fishing line inflicts serious injury. The same applies to catching silver carp with an elastic band, because even in this case the hauling is done manually and it is very difficult to control large fish.

But the use of a classic donkey with technoplankton on the “trempel” gave the desired result, especially after the rig was improved, namely, changing the length of the leaders and using foam balls as nozzles, which are highly buoyant.

If, when fishing for silver carp from the surface, the hooks should be below the technoplankton bar, then when fishing from the bottom, they should float higher.

Styrofoam balls just turned out to be the best nozzle, as they:

  • always raise the hooks above the bait;
  • do not absorb water for 4-5 hours;
  • painted in bright colors, which also attracts silver carp;
  • are very inexpensive and available to everyone.

Important! IN this case we are talking about high-quality foam for fishing, and not those materials that are used in construction, for building insulation and are not particularly water resistant. In the absence of high-quality foam plastic, a construction option is also used, but then you need to change the nozzles on the hook at least after 2-3 hours of standing in the water.

Some anglers use foamed dough instead of foam balls, which also raises the hooks above the bottom, but it soaks faster and the nozzle is changed at least once every 1-1.5 hours. In the warm season, honey dough works well yellow color, in cold water - green, with the smell of herbs, garlic or shrimp.

Installation of bottom tackle on silver carp

The general design of the donkey for silver carp differs little from the tackle for carp, with the exception of the last section with bait and hooks. The silver carp grows to a large size, and catching a specimen of 10-15 kilograms is quite a common thing for our reservoirs. So the angler needs to be ready to catch a trophy and have a margin of safety of tackle, thanks to which self-confidence will appear.

rod

It is better to take a carp rod with a test of 3-3.5 Lb. This will allow you to cast the rig over a long distance and calmly play the trophy fish without fear that it will come off the hook or break the rod. They also catch silver carp on feeder rods, because their carp line is distinguished by reliability and durability.

A soft feeder rod will give a lot of unforgettable minutes when playing not even the largest silver carp, and its astringent properties help to hold the fish and cushion its powerful jerks. A silver carp weighing 3–5 kg puts up fierce resistance to the angler, not to mention specimens from 5 kg and above. Reliable rod- the key to successful fishing for silver carp and it is important to understand.

Coil

Only suitable for catching silver carp spinning reel with fast friction brake and baitrunner system. After the hook catches the lip of the fish, it most often makes a sharp jerk and tries to go into cover. Incorrectly adjusted friction brake is a guarantee of loss of fish, even not the most large sizes. In addition, when approaching the shore, especially in small areas, the silver carp feels a serious danger and tries to get rid of the hook.

There were cases when a fish weighing 8–10 kg, already in front of the landing net, made a high candle, and when falling, under own weight, broke off the snap with a hook. Therefore, the reel is very important when fighting and its setting should be given close attention. The size of the spool is taken from 4000 to 6000, it all depends on the casting technique and the range of the fishing point.

fishing line

Even when fishing with feeder rods, only monofilament fishing line is taken as the basis. Its extensibility plays a role, thanks to which the tackle “forgives” the angler possible mistakes when playing out. It is impossible to force the hauling of the silver carp, therefore, before bringing it to the landing net, it must be tired as much as possible. It’s good if the fish “grabs” the air, but more often than not, it tries to go deep and you have to make serious efforts in order to succeed.

Quality line - required condition when knitting gear for silver carp and you can’t save on it. If the hook bends or breaks under the onslaught of the trophy, this is regarded as an unpleasant accident. But if the main line breaks when playing or casting, it is the fault of the fisherman or his oversight. Before fishing for silver carp, always check the condition of the base, and if necessary, change it to a fresher fishing line.

The thickness of the monofilament line is 0.28-0.30. A thicker line creates inconvenience when casting, and a thinner one is unreliable when playing a trophy, even for experienced anglers. Of course, it is possible to use the carp technique with a shock leader and a 0.22-0.25 line, but this is additional time for knitting tackle and the lack of complete confidence in its reliability specifically for catching silver carp.

We knit a snap

Installation of bottom equipment for silver carp with technoplankton is knitted on a piece of ledcore.

For this you will need:

  • trempel for technoplankton;
  • a piece of ledcore with a lead core 50 cm long;
  • three leashes 5, 7 and 10 cm long;
  • sharp hooks on leashes 2–4 numbers according to the European classification of the wide gape form;
  • sinker on a swivel with a clasp, weighing from 30 to 80 grams, it all depends on the casting distance;
  • a winding ring with a diameter slightly larger than the diameter of the frame wire;
  • carp anther according to the diameter of the frame.

Making a frame for technoplankton from a bicycle spoke also has a drawback, because the metal quickly rusts in water. Hungarian producers of technoplankton, considered the best on the market, complete their kegs with plastic frames, and it is better to use them. Plastic frames are also preferable from the point of view of less weight than wire, and their strength is beyond doubt.

The shape of the wide gape hooks with a wide underwear ensures that when a silver carp enters the mouth, a notch will occur behind the soft tissues. As we remember, the silver carp has hard lips, and in order to pierce them, you need sharp and strong hooks with a wide hook.

Nobody forbids experimenting, including in choosing the shape of hooks, but it is wide gaps that have been tested by time and by many fishing trips, and these hooks will not let you down. The weight of the hooks also plays a role, because the smaller it is, the easier it is to get into the mouth of a fish that filters water in search of food.

Leads for bottom gear are knitted for silver carp from soft lead material with a breaking load of 15–25 Lb. Even when catching trophy fish, such strength of the material is sufficient for its safe playing.

The color of the lead thread is not decisive, although it is better to choose calm, soft tones of black or dark green. The shape of the sinker is also uncritical, although when fishing on the current it is desirable that there are lugs.

But in ponds with stagnant water they catch on sinkers of a cylindrical or spherical shape. The weight of the load is selected depending on the type of reservoir and the range of the fishing point. For a current, a larger load is needed, but for a bet or a lake, too heavy a load is not necessary. In any case, the weight of the load must be sufficient to ensure that when the hook enters the mouth of the fish, self-setting occurs.

For the manufacture of bottom mounting on a silver carp, you must:

  1. Using a fishing hook, tie two loops at the ends of the ledcore.
  2. Using the loop-in-loop method, tie the leadcore to the frame for technoplankton.
  3. Attach a sinker to the bottom ring of the trempel.
  4. Put a barrel of technoplankton on the trempel.
  5. Put a winding ring on the free end of the leadcore and stretch it all the way to the keg, putting it on the trempel.
  6. Tie the shortest leash to the winding ring.
  7. Tie two other leashes to the side rings of the trempel.

Put the boot on the free end of the leadcore and, stretching it as low as possible, fix the clockwork ring with the leash and the technoplankton barrel.
Before casting the bottom tackle on the silver carp, foam balls are put on the hooks and their tips are pierced into the technoplankton. This is necessary so that the leashes do not get confused when casting. After hitting the water, the keg begins to dissolve, the hooks are released and float next to the keg.

As the technoplankton erodes, a cloudy cloud appears near the hooks, on which the fish come and, as a result, are caught by the hook. Multi-hook rigs are not considered sports, but silver carp fishing is not poaching, even though there are three hooks, not one. If you leave only one hook, the effectiveness of fishing will decrease insignificantly, but it will already be a semi-sports tackle.

Very rarely, a silver carp is caught with two, and even more so with three hooks, so they are placed more for the angler's complacency than to increase the effectiveness of fishing. And here different length leashes are important, with the shortest being knitted furthest away from the sinker. After casting, the tackle is at the bottom in a taut position, and its lowest point is the sinker. The winding ring with the leash is on the leadcore above the load and therefore a short leash is knitted to it.

The length of the leashes is not constant, and if there is no bite, but single "peaks" of the signaling device are regularly heard, indicating that the fish is nearby, it makes sense to play with the length of the leashes in order to solve the problem and still catch the silver carp.

When reeling out the rig to freshen up the technoplankton, the hooks become blunt on rocks and coastal debris, so be sure to check their sharpness before casting. A blunt hook, once in the fish's mouth, will not pierce the dense tissue, and bite will not occur, although the fisherman does not even know about it.

Bottom montages on silver carp with technoplankton show excellent results, but this does not mean that this fish cannot be caught with other gear. The question arises, why else invent something if there is a catchy equipment? The answer is simple - the cost of high-quality technoplankton is rather big, and for fishing on several donuts it will take a lot.

If you catch on a cheap and low-quality product, the results will be disastrous, so you have to think about how you can replace the bait, but in such a way as to ensure the maximum effect. As already mentioned, it is inconvenient to catch a silver carp with an elastic band or a snack, but a snap with a spring feeder will help to achieve good results, if the tackle is connected taking into account the characteristics of the silver carp.

The attractiveness of technoplankton as bait is due to the fact that it "dusts" in the water column. So you need to make a bait for the spring, which will also provide a dusty effect when soaked. This bait should be inexpensive and consist of affordable ingredients, otherwise technoplankton will be preferable.

And such a bait was invented by fishermen, and its main ingredient turned out to be ordinary peas, cooked to a viscous state - mashed potatoes. Once in the water, pea puree begins to "muddy" the water, which is exactly what the angler needs. But by itself, the peas will not be molded into the feeder, so when cooking, corn grits and semolina are added to it.

The cooling mixture acquires the consistency of plasticine, is perfectly molded into a spring and lasts for a long time, gradually dissolving in water. Porridge for catching large silver carp on a spring, based on peas, has become a worthy alternative to technoplankton and is used by many anglers. To increase the dusting effect, milk powder is added to the bait, but even without it, the “porridge” works perfectly.

Ordinary metal springs are not very suitable for catching silver carp, but now plastic spring feeders with a trempel similar to those used with technoplankton are sold in fishing stores. It turns out that Bottom part the feeder looks like a trempel, and in the upper part, instead of a pin for the technoplankton nozzle, a spring is made into which the bait will be hammered.

The advantages of such plastic springs are obvious, because they:

  • lighter than metal frames;
  • better "keep" bait;
  • do not rust in water even after long-term fishing;
  • are cheaper.

It is unlikely that it will be possible to make a plastic feeder with your own hands, because this requires professional equipment such as a thermoplastic machine, but their cost is no more than that of frames for technoplankton. So you won’t inflict a devastating blow to the family budget when buying even a few feeders, but you can definitely catch a test trophy.

Fishermen who fish for silver carp from the bottom still knit up to a dozen rigs with plastic spring feeders at home, even if fishing is carried out with less than 5 rods. With a hook, there is a high probability of losing a snap, and knitting it right on a pond is not very convenient.

To make a mount with a spring feeder you will need:

  • a piece of leadcore with a metal core of 50 cm;
  • two leashes with hooks number 4–6;
  • winding ring;
  • anther;
  • sinker with swivel and clasp;
  • plastic feeder spring.

Despite the fact that the design of the trempel allows you to tie three leashes, a load clings to the lower eyelet, and one leash is knitted to one of the side ones. It is closest to the sinker, as the second leash on the winding ring is located higher.

To do bottom tackle for a silver carp you need:

  1. Tie the leadcore to the trempel using a mounting needle.
  2. At the other end of the leadcore, make a loop to attach to the main line.
  3. Put the winding ring on the ledcore and stretch it to the spring itself.
  4. Put the boot on the ledcore and, lowering it as low as possible, press the ring.
  5. Tie a leash with a hook to the ring.
  6. Fasten the sinker to the lower ring on the trempel.
  7. Tie the leash to the side ring of the trempel.

Technique for catching silver carp on donkeys

Before casting, pea porridge is hammered into the spring, and a pair of small foam balls clings to the hooks, lifting the hooks vertically upwards in the water. After casting, the rod is mounted on a stand with a signaling device, and the swinger clings to the fishing line.

Don't forget to adjust the reel's friction brake and turn on the baitrunner system, because bighead carp bites on the principle of "give the rod back" happen regularly. If fishing is carried out in the summer, then it can be nice to swim behind the rod that the fish has pulled. But in spring and autumn this is not very pleasant, so it's better not to forget to properly prepare the tackle.

The bites of silver carp are sharp, so you need to be careful, especially when fishing with 3 or more rods. In the process of fighting, you should not force events and, working with a friction brake, you need to pull up and release the fish in order to tire it out as much as possible. But even if it seems to you that the caught silver carp is tired and you can safely bring it into the landing net, be vigilant, because this fish is capable of making a sharp jerk at the last moment and breaking the rig.

Another important point due to the fact that in the process of playing it is impossible to give slack to the fishing line and you need to keep the fish tight all the time. There should be no loosening of the fishing line, because a powerful silver carp is able to take advantage of the angler's inattention and get off the hook.

After biting, it is necessary to additionally hook the fish so that the hook bites into its lip as deeply as possible. Even though the donk on the silver carp is self-securing tackle, hooking is necessary so that there is no doubt that the fish will not leave the hook.

In classical carp fishing, it is not recommended to make additional strong cuts due to the fact that as a result the hook will simply pop out of the soft tissues of the carp. But a silver carp is not a carp and its skin and fleshy tissues are much tougher, so you don’t have to be afraid to pull out a seemingly hooked hook.

There are cases when a silver carp is caught not with one, but with two, or even three hooks, and this is not as good as it might seem. As a result of serifs with several hooks, the fish goes sideways to the shore, creating additional resistance. This leads to injury to trophies, so no need to bet on tackle maximum amount hooks. Silver carp is perfectly caught on one hook, the main thing is that the tackle is tied correctly, and the bait works and dusts in the water.

Important! After unwinding the snap, be sure to check the sharpness of the hooks so that in the future there are no unpleasant and unexpected gatherings.

Homemade technoplankton recipes

After the approximate composition of industrial technoplankton became clear, some anglers took the risk of making it themselves at home and succeeded in doing so. The main difficulty lies in the manufacture of a press with which cubes and kegs are pressed. But this problem has also been solved, so there are more and more manufacturers of homemade technoplankton.

To prepare the mixture from which the bait will be pressed, you must:

  • half a kilogram of semolina;
  • 300 grams of breadcrumbs;
  • half a kilo of cornmeal;
  • 300 grams of sugar;
  • 300 grams of corn grits.

All ingredients of the future bait are thoroughly mixed while still dry and crushed. To make high-quality technoplankton, you need a fine-grained “dusty” mixture, so additional grinding will not hurt. Next, the mixture is moistened with water and honey in a ratio of 5/1, and in several passes. Since the mixture “drinks” water well, waterlogging is possible during manufacture, since it is difficult to control the consistency. Therefore, moisturizing is done in 3-4 passes, so that the mixture is sufficiently sticky and at the same time free-flowing.

Homemade technoplankton is 2-3 times cheaper than store-bought, but it works just as well, so for those who plan to catch silver carp regularly, it is advisable to learn how to make this bait with your own hands. Carefully dry homemade technoplankton, because losing moisture, it only becomes better for fishing for silver carp.

In our reservoirs, the silver carp grows to quite a decent size, and catching this fish is an entertaining and "adrenaline" activity. Tying rigs is easy, as is preparing groundbaits and baits, so be sure to learn how to do this and solid trophies will be in your cage.

It is generally accepted that the silver carp feeds in the upper layers of the water and the "Silver carp killer" tackle sold in stores allows you to catch silver carp only from a shallow depth. But in fact, the silver carp feeds at any depth, so on every fishing trip you need to look for the depth at which the silver carp runs. And for this you need a tackle that allows you to set almost any depth of fishing.
Our online store sells unique copyright float tackle for catching silver carp.

But for those who are used to collecting gear on their own, we give its scheme and a detailed description:

Click on the picture to enlarge.

What you need to assemble the gear shown:

1. Sliding sinker.

The sinker acts as an anchor so that the float does not move under the influence of wind or current. For a stagnant pond, a weight of 30-40g is sufficient, although often heavier weights are used to increase the casting distance, for example, weighing 60g.
The sinker should have a large through hole so that the rubber stopper on the fishing line can easily fly through this hole.
Our online store sells unique sliding weights for float fishing for silver carp.

2. Float.

The best float shape is egg-shaped or oval. Optimum load capacity 50-60g., because small floats won't let the fish in effectively self-lock, and too large will be an extra hindrance when casting. The float must have a long, strong keel, preferably made of steel wire or durable non-fragile plastic. The length of the keel must be at least 4-5 cm, otherwise the float will chatter even on a small wave, which means that the tablet will jump, scaring away the silver carp. At the end of the keel there should be a ring with a diameter of 2-3 mm so that the float slides easily along the line.
The float antenna should allow you to insert a firefly into it to night fishing. Of course, a firefly can be tied to an antenna, but it's better to insert it into a transparent antenna. The color of the float below should be dim, and the top of the float should be painted in colors visible from afar: yellow or red.
A large float is subjected to heavy loads when casting tackle and playing fish, so all elements of the float must be as strong as possible. Good floats suitable for catching silver carp are rarely sold, so you can make homemade floats based on the characteristics described above.
In our online store are sold quality floats that meet all the requirements for catching silver carp.

3. Rubber or silicone stoppers.

Used to set the depth of fishing. Any color, shape - the most streamlined, the size is small, because. when fishing at great depths, the stopper on the line will be far from the rig and will hit the rings of the rod when casting, and if the stopper is large, then, at best, this will lead to a displacement of the stopper on the line, and at worst - to a break in the tackle. The use of large stoppers creates difficulties after the cast as well. a large stopper sometimes does not slip through the hole in the sliding sinker, and the sinker, resting the edge of the hole in the stopper, drags all the equipment to the bottom or hangs on the fishing line if the carrying capacity of the float is greater than the weight of the sinker.
But too small stoppers should not be used, because. under them it will be difficult to pick up a stopper bead - the stopper will fly into the hole of the bead. Still small stoppers usually move very easily along the line, which leads to a spontaneous change in the depth of fishing. Therefore, we recommend buying several different stoppers: after the first fishing trip, you will choose the most suitable ones.

4. Plastic stop bead.

Serves to stop the pop-up float in the stopper. The inner hole of the bead must be smaller than the size of the stopper so that the bead rests against the stopper, and the diameter of the bead must be larger than the hole in the keel of the float so that the float rests against the bead. It is also important that the diameter of the bead be larger than the hole in the anchor sinker, so that the bead does not fly through the hole in the sinker or jam in the hole of the sinker, otherwise the sinker after casting the tackle may not fall to the bottom, but hang on the bead.
In the case of using large stoppers, the need for a bead may disappear, because. the float will rest against the stopper even without a bead, but the disadvantages of large stoppers have already been described above.

5. Swivel and a piece of fishing line to prevent hooks from snagging on rigging.

The swivel is necessary to stop the float and the sliding sinker into it before casting, and a small piece of strong fishing line between the swivel and the silver carp stick serves to prevent overlaps and hooks of hooks on the float or sinker during the casting of the tackle: thanks to this piece of fishing line, the float and sinker will be located at a sufficient distance from the hooks. At the same time, the casting distance is slightly reduced due to the separation of the weights of the load and the tablet: the longer this piece of fishing line is, the shorter the casting distance will be. To put this element of equipment or not to put it - everyone decides for himself.
In principle, a swivel and a piece of fishing line are unnecessary elements if the hooks are fixed at the time of casting. The following methods of fixing hooks can be advised:
1. Put a corn stick on a silver carp stick together with a tablet, and stick hooks into it. In flight, the hooks will be fixed, and when hitting the water, the corn stick usually flies off the rig and the hooks are released.
2. Corn stick can be replaced with water-soluble carpfishing foam or a strip cut from a PVA bag.
3. Peculiar, but very effective method- use strips cut from water-soluble bushings from toilet paper Zewa: the hooks are securely held in cardboard, which dissolves almost instantly when it gets into the water.
4. Buy in our online store water soluble PVA tape and for a long time to forget about the problem of overlaps and hooks when casting tackle.

6. Olive-loading.

Any sliding weight, for example, an olive weighing 10-15g, is put on a fishing line directly above the silver carp stick. This load is necessary for additional loading of the float, because a Hydroplankton tablet in water weighs only a few grams, which is clearly not enough to load a large float. This loading can not be used, but without it, the float will begin to wind even on a small wave.

7. Silver carp stick.

A silver carp stick (equipment for fixing tablets) can be absolutely any, the main thing is that you can put a technoplankton tablet on it and fasten the leashes with hooks. You can use plastic sticks sold in fishing stores or sticks made from bicycle knitting needles or wire, you can also make homemade silver carp sticks from steel wire or even from a short pike leash.

_

IN our online store are sold original equipment for fixing technoplankton . The tablet is put on a snap and fiksecured with a large clasp - this is the most reliable and convenient way tablet fixation. A leash with a hook can be tied to the clasp: the location of the hook under the tablet is the most catchy when fishing with silver carp, because. the vast majority of bites of silver carp occur precisely on the lower hook.

8. Clasps.

Necessary for fixing Hydroplankton tablets on a silver carp stick. If a purchased silver carp stick is used, then a clasp is not needed. The requirements for fasteners are predictable: very strong, not prone to unfastening under load, easy to use. Fasteners should not be small, because. small fasteners will sooner or later unfasten or unfasten under load, and small fasteners will simply not be convenient to unfasten and fasten.

9. Leashes.

The main requirements for leashes are strength and flexibility.
The thickness of the leash does not affect the number of bites of the silver carp in any way, so the leash should be as strong as possible, because it is on it that all the shock load occurs during the jumps of the silver carp when playing.
The flexibility of the leash is necessary for a quick turn of the hook towards the fish when it touches the leash. Run your finger across the hanging leash from different sides and you will see everything for yourself. And in order for the leashes to be as flexible as possible, you need to use soft carp leash material or a soft braided line. You can use fishing line or fluorocarbon leaders, but their flexibility leaves much to be desired, although, of course, you will not be left without a catch.
Of great importance is the length of the leashes. If one hook is used, then it must be attached under the tablet. In this case, the length of the leash should be 7-10 cm. You can make it longer, but there is not much point in this, because. hooking will worsen and the tendency to tangle when casting will increase.
If 2 hooks are used, then the length of the side leash should be such that the hook hangs at the level of the lower edge of the tablet.
And do not forget to inspect the leashes after each fishing and, if necessary, change them to new ones.

10. Hooks.

That’s what you can’t save on, it’s on hooks, because the silver carp is self-hooking, so the hooks must be very sharp, made of the thinnest possible wire, but at the same time large and very strong, otherwise the silver carp will easily break or unbend a poor-quality hook, and a small hook will tear out of the lip when playing out. A suitable hook option is Owner 50355 size 2/0 or 3/0, but any other that meets the requirements above will work. And do not forget to change hooks after several fishing trips, especially if there were hooks. After all, you will not notice that the hook has become blunt or straightened a little, just the fish will stop being detected or constant gatherings will begin. To prevent this, make it a rule for yourself to periodically change all the hooks, treat them as consumables.
Our online store sells large hooks for carp fishing made from thin wire.

11. Main line.

We strongly recommend using only strong and thick (from 0.3 mm and thicker) monofilaments as the main fishing line, because. when playing, the silver carp strongly resists, and not only the properly adjusted friction of the reel, but also the shock-absorbing properties of the monofilament saves from breaking the tackle. But braided fishing lines (braids) are not suitable for catching silver carp for a number of reasons, and we do not recommend using them.

A few recommendations for casting gear for float fishing for silver carp.

The gear before casting looks like this:

If the depth of fishing is large, then the stopper may not be on the overhang of the fishing line from the rod, but between the rings or even on the reel. To prevent breakage of gear during casting, the stopper must have a streamlined shape and a small size.

After casting, you do not need to immediately reel in the line, but on the contrary, you need to give slack. If the weight of the sinker is greater than the carrying capacity of the float, then after casting the tackle, the float may sink, carried down by the sinking load. This happens for two reasons: either the stopper did not fly through the hole in the sinker or there is no slack in the line, and the sinker does not slide down the line, but sinks on the stretched line and drowns the float. If you give the fishing line slack, then the float should float up in a few seconds. To do this, it is necessary to bleed a certain amount of line from the reel so that a visible line slack is formed. If the float still does not float up, then this means that the stopper still did not fly through the hole in the sinker, but caught on the edge of the sinker, and does not allow the float to float up. In this case, you need to select the slack of the line and make a sweeping pull with the rod, then open the bail of the reel and again drop some amount of line, giving slack. Usually, after such actions, the stopper flies through the hole of the sliding weight, and the float emerges. If the float still does not surface, then the tackle will have to be pulled out and sorted out the reasons, probably the hook caught on the sinker or the fishing line twisted around the sinker.
After the float emerges, the slack is carefully selected, but it is not necessary to pull the line - otherwise the float will rise above the sinker and the tablet will hang next to the line stretched between the sinker and the float, which will surely scare away the fish. Therefore, it is better if the fishing line sags a little. Then the rod is installed on a stand (pegs, rod-under), if desired, bite alarms can be used, but you need to understand that with such a design of tackle, the alarms will only show pulls from the shore.
And do not forget to turn on the baitrunner on the reel or loosen the friction brake - otherwise the silver carp will easily drag your fishing rod.

In the process of fishing, all elements of the equipment experience heavy loads, so after each fishing, inspect the tackle and do not be lazy to replace damaged elements (leashes, hooks, floats, main line).

Buy tackle for catching silver carp:

What could be better than getting incredible pleasure from catching silver carp, and as a result, a luxurious trophy for the fisherman in the form of a large fish. In order to cope with such a task, you will definitely need: a snack, a feeder, as well as carp sticks that can withstand a fairly large load. To lure a good fish, you need to use bait in the form of boiled peas. In order for the bait to turn out to be correct, it is worth cooking this cereal until it is completely boiled, or rather, to the state of mashed potatoes. Consider in more detail about catching silver carp.

Silver carp can be attributed to the category of fish that live in flocks and which do not breed in our country, given the climatic conditions. As food, the fish uses microscopic algae, or in another way they are also called phytoplankton. In order to catch a good catch, you need to go fishing in June, August and the very beginning of September. Silver carp catch is not affected weather, but only a sharp jump in pressure. Given my many years of experience as a fisherman, I will tell you in detail all the features and nuances of catching this fish.

Which place to choose for catching silver carp?

To catch a silver carp, you need to find the reservoirs in which the silver carp was inhabited about 10 years ago. At the same time, take into account the circumstance in which, in the selected reservoir, natural nutrition is fully present. In this case, you will not receive any catch and trophy. This can be visually determined by the water, or rather its color. There should be no green tint in the water. Catching a silver carp is a process that is unpredictable in terms of result, since it is impossible to predict in advance whether there will be a bite or not. As an avid fisherman, I advise you to combine catching silver carp with catching other fish, so as not to be left without a catch.

What equipment is needed when catching silver carp?

For good fishing, you should always have a snack, feeder, carp “sticks” with you that can withstand a heavy load. As a professional fisherman, I recommend using a two-section carp “stick” Shimano BEASTMASTER AX Specimen 13 350 Long Range DOUBLE LEG for catching silver carp, the length of which is almost 4 meters, and the test is 160 grams. In addition, I recommend the Okuma Distance Carp Pro 60, which is equipped with PowerPRO line, with a diameter of 0.30 mm. Keep in mind that while fishing, long-distance casting may be necessary. In this case, the installation of a "shock leader" will be required.

We turn to the most important thing, namely, to equipment for catching silver carp.

The main component of the equipment is a shipped feeder or spring, with an anti-twist. The universal weight of the feeder should be no more than 70 grams. For a leash, it is best to use a fishing line with a diameter of 0.25 mm and a length of up to 30 cm, but no more. The hook "KOSADAKA" OTAKU 3303 Gold Size No. 6 will be ideal with a wire thickness of 0.56 mm.

A little advice: the use of a braided leash did not justify itself, there were no bites, so you should not waste your time on it.

How to lure silver carp while fishing?

The most favorite bait of silver carp is well-boiled peas. In my practice, I used only this cereal. In order to properly prepare the bait, it is necessary to cook the peas until completely boiled, or rather, until mashed potatoes are formed. So that the resulting mass does not drain from the feeder, it is worth using breadcrumbs for this purpose. So that the bait does not deteriorate during fishing, given the fact that the groats deteriorate quickly, it is necessary to store it in a cool place. With proper storage of the bait, fishing will definitely not do without a catch.

For silver carp bait, I recommend using large foam plastic, preferably white and up to 8 mm in diameter. In this case, the floating properties of the foam are very important, which should be enough to tear the hook and leader off the bottom by a few centimeters. If such a situation is missed, then you should not deploy the cage.

What time to catch silver carp

The best bite of silver carp is in the morning and lunchtime. In my experience, this statement is correct. But, at night, it was not possible to catch a trophy from a reservoir. It is necessary to correctly cast, given that the tackle should lie on a clean bottom. The largest representatives of the silver carp are quite shy, so it is recommended to cast as far from the shore as possible. The maximum bait on the silver carp lasts approximately several hours. This circumstance forces, after a certain time, to recharge and throw it again. In fishing for silver carp, the main thing is to gain experience, and then, it will be a common thing for you.

You won't believe it, but my very first tackle is on initial stage professional fishing this species fish - the "silver carp wand" appeared. I saw this method on the video, so I decided to try it and put it into practice. The design of the gear provides absolutely all the nuances of the structure of the silver carp's oral cavity, as well as the features of its nutrition.

Technoplankton acts as a bait, bait and nozzle. It is a product specially designed for fishing different kind fish, including silver carp. In shape, it resembles a “barrel”, in which there is a compressed bait, and along the axis there is a small hole for fastening.

For catching silver carp, you should choose light-colored technoplankton. When buying a package, pay attention to what kind of fish it is intended for: for carp, white carp, catfish, silver carp. My choice was only for the fish we were considering. Consider what tends to soak, especially in still water, in 30 to 40 minutes. If fishing takes place on a river, then soaking occurs much faster.

What tackle to use for catching silver carp on top?

If you notice that the silver carp floats on top in order to feed, then the nozzle should be fed so that it can float, exclusively on the surface of the water. For this purpose, use a water-filled ball or float "", as well as a leash of invisible fishing line up to 0.3 mm thick and 1.5 m long. When choosing a nozzle for fishing on a float and on top, consider what the silver carp is fed in the pond, if it is private.

In my opinion, it is better in this version to use bread crumb, a crust of bread, and, if possible, canned corn. I do not recommend rolling the bread crumb into a ball when attaching to the hook. Apply a simple method - lightly press the bread with your fingers, this will be enough. This is due to the fact that on the hook the bread should take on a soft, softened and fluffy appearance.

If you use bread as a nozzle for fishing on top, then I recommend:

  • use soft French loaves, which should be pierced several times during planting. The first puncture should be from the side of the pulp, then raise the hook up and turn it so that the sting of the hook is turned down to the crust and only then repeat the puncture. In this version, the crust is much better fixed on the hook when casting.
  • keep in mind that the size of the crust should be medium, not small. This is due to the fact that while the silver carp gets to the bait, small fish, such as rudd, crucian carp, and roach, gnaw at the crust.

Taking into account many years of experience as a fisherman, I can safely say that the capture of silver carps on float gear on top, were very rare and caused a lot of trouble. The finished catch of silver carp in this way was only 2 kilograms, but it was not possible to get a catch as a large fish until the moment when I found another solution, using a floating nozzle with bait for this.

I managed to catch the very first silver carp, thanks to the universal carp tackle for long-distance casting. In this option, it is necessary to take into account the correctly chosen float, which must be transparent. Ordinary floats scare away silver carp. Remember that you need to make more depth, although the fish can be no deeper than 15 cm from the surface.

If all kinds of sticks or reeds are present in the reservoir of your choice, it is worth using balsa floats. But, there is one nuance that must be taken into account. The float with the antenna must not be placed vertically. The silver carp will be alert if the float you have chosen will stand out among the various branches that are located in a horizontal position, and thus, it will frighten away our object. I recommend fixing it so that it is in horizontal visibility.

The silver carp is considered pretty big fish, whole flocks of which are clearly visible in the water on clear and sunny days. Its weight reaches 70 kg, but such individuals are found on large reservoirs or rivers. In small reservoirs, you can find fish weighing about 10 kg.

Only a few can catch such a large giant correctly, because everyone is used to catching small fish such as crucian carp. Although catching silver carp does not seem to be something very difficult, the main thing is to use the right tackle, and the video presented in the article will help to understand this.

To understand the principle of action of tackle on silver carp, it is necessary to understand the principle of the process of catching silver carp. It is not caught on ordinary bait, as it feeds on silver carp completely different food than ordinary fish. Therefore, ordinary bait does not attract him.

It will seem rather absurd that the silver carp pecks on a bare hook. No need to invent any nozzle like cucumber or cabbage. Just a couple of good large and strong hooks will suffice. Naturally, he will not swim up to him and just swallow.

can attract him natural food - plankton. In fact, this is the turbidity that the silver carp filters with its large mouth. As soon as he notices that there is a cloudy spot in the water, he immediately swims up to it to filter his food in it.

But if there are hooks in such a muddy spot, then the fish will definitely suck them in. This is how the silver carp is caught. It remains only to figure out how to make an attractive haze for him and place the hooks there. Murk for catching silver carp is created using:

  • Special technoplankton sold in specialized stores. It is a compressed barrel that dissolves in water and forms a cloudy cloud.
  • Bait-geyser. This is a special bait that creates the effect of spraying in water. Also sold in fishing shops.
  • A special porridge to which spraying ingredients are added.
  • Makukhi.

In order not to run into low-quality bait, it is better do it yourself. It can be an ordinary bait or porridge, in which one of the following components must be present:

  • semolina;
  • crushed cookies;
  • vanilla sugar;
  • powdered milk;
  • Wheat flour;
  • bran.

After the dregs have been created, it is necessary to figure out what the tackle is for catching silver carp.

Tackle for catching silver carp

For catching silver carp, tackle with a loud name is used "silver killer". Such a tackle is a large float with a large carrying capacity. Below the float, 30 cm, there should be a feeder on which the hooks are fixed.

They should hang down a little below the feeder, so they will be right at the epicenter of the cloudy cloud. Swimming up to the feeder, the silver carp begins to filter out the dregs, and with it sucks and hooks. For catching such fish, very large hooks are ideal.

The sinker on the silver carp killer is sliding and it is located directly above the float. In this case, the load used as an anchor, and the float takes a vertical position due to the feeder with technoplankton or porridge. As soon as the feeder is empty, the float tilts to the water at an angle of 45 degrees, making it easy to determine when it is necessary to replace the porridge or technoplankton barrel.

Silver carp is not only a large fish, but also a strong one. When fighting, it can make turns and rapid jerks. If the hook is of poor quality, then it will not cope with such a turn, so you should use only quality items.

It is also important to make sure that the hook is sharp, because after a few fishing trips it gets dull. In this case, it must be replaced immediately, because the fish can spit it out and not be hooked.

How to fish for a killer silver carp-tackle and video

Tackle must be collected, after which the spring is stuffed with porridge or technoplankton is placed. If porridge is used, then it is better to hide the hooks in it. In this case, they will not get confused. Can hook on styrofoam, which is used to improve the suction of the hook by the fish.

In this case, several grains of foam are put on the hook. In this case, the tip of the hook should be bare, the foam should be moved further and left on the semicircular part.

So that the hooks do not get tangled, and the porridge does not fall out of the spring, the rod is inserted into the stand, the friction clutch is released and the float with the sinker is taken. Then you need to sit on a mattress or inflatable boat and start moving along the river. You need to swim away from the coast.

If the reservoir is small, it is necessary to bring the float into the middle, and on a large river it is brought in 50 m or 100 m. slide towards the shore, shifting the float a few meters closer to the shore. This is taken into account if you need to throw tackle in a certain place.

This fish begins to peck in mid-May, and stops in September. In winter they are not caught. Best time for the bite:

  • morning;
  • evening.

At night it is practically impossible to catch. It should be remembered that during the day the fish goes deep into the reservoir, and in the morning and evening it swims closer to the shore, but still keeps at a distance of 20 30 m. Porridge or technoplankton is replaced every 2 hours.

You can use the “silver carp killer” tackle separately from the place where other fish are caught. If a large float suddenly easily goes to the side or water, this can always be noticed. More often silver carp self-cutting, and it does not distract from catching other fish.

Interestingly, one caught silver carp can weigh much more than the entire catch for the whole day. The above video clearly demonstrates how large this fish can be.
