On January 15, the European Figure Skating Championship starts on the ice of the Moscow Megasport arena. Member of the Presidium of the Federation figure skating skating in Russia (FFKKR), President of the Federation of Sports Journalists of Russia (FSJR) Nikolai Dolgopolov spoke about the chances of the national team at the home tournament, about the competition in women's skating and the absence in men's, as well as about Yulia Lipnitskaya, who ended her career.

Nikolai Mikhailovich, before we talk about the medal chances of the Russian team at the European Championships, I would like to ask the following. Why is there competition in Russian women's skating, but not in men's? Girls have a new name every year. A vivid example of this is Alina Zagitova, the winner of the Grand Prix final.

And now there are two girls who do men's quadruple jumps. One of them is 14-year-old Alena Kostornaya, she is amazing. And they all train with the same mentor - Eteri Tutberidze. Turned out to be a very talented coach. She pulled them up.

Since you have mentioned Tutberidze. Why couldn't she push herself further? Olympic champion in the team Yulia Lipnitskaya?

Lipnitskaya could not hold out for long. And I will say that I have seen few such difficult people as Yulia and her mother.

Julia Lipnitskaya

How is such a character isolated, and even at such a young age?

conditions family life in which she grew up. It was a very unusual situation. Mom was the most important. When I met her, I was just taken aback. I saw a lot of mothers of figure skaters, and sports mothers in general, but never like this.

What surprised you?

Rigidity and bias towards people.

Can we say that it was her mother who broke Julia?

No. I think no. Such a tandem was created. Although I am sure that after figure skating, my daughter will be able to prove herself somewhere. And my mother has a very difficult character. When Lipnitskaya, after the 2014 Olympics, took second place at the World Championships in Tokyo, without any doubt losing to the ice mistress of the great Mao Asada, I, as the head of the delegation, came up and congratulated her. And both turned away from me, did not hear.

Cause?

Mom thought that it was because of people like me that they lose, that we didn’t fight for Yulia in any way. You see, then Yulia was supposed to be the third. But at this World Cup, she was still remembered and idolized for her semi-childish red dress, and against the backdrop of Sochi's success, she was very friendly and kindly judged in Japan. She was a favorite. The second place is God's help plus a touching girlish look. But my mother believed that her daughter was sued, and that we did nothing to help Yulia. As I understand it, this is a false idea, and the girl was inspired.

Even despite the fact that coach Tutberidze has a strong character ...

I think that for her the departure of Lipnitskaya was a deliverance.

Everything is clear with Lipnitskaya. So why is there no competition for men?

Because there were no guys needed for this sport. They are just now showing up. There are capable boys who have completely, at least for me, pulled themselves up to the level of world figure skating, which, it seemed, had hopelessly gone ahead in three or four years of our timelessness. Gone, but not hopeless. If earlier at the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver there were disputes and whole discussions about why the Russians needed these quads and Plushenko, who jumped them, was brazenly mocked, leading the American Evan Lysacek to the champions, who did not even try to do a single quad, but now without it jumping to major tournaments, it’s better not to come at all.

At the 2018 Russian Championship, all the skaters who took places from 1st to 10th jumped or tried to jump. Who performed two, and who did three, and the tenth in rank performed a quadruple in training, but failed at the competition. This is an indicator of how much we have rushed forward. But I think that this Olympic train has already run away from our guys. And now only by 2022, by the Beijing Olympics, will we have good guys, if nothing happens.

But what about Maxim Kovtun?

TASS/AP Photo/Julie Jacobson

Maxim Kovtun at the final stage of the Grand Prix in figure skating in Lake Placid

In my opinion, the wrong bet was made on Kovtun, who performed four quads in training. This is a very important achievement, which could not be repeated in the official international tournaments. Everyone thought that this guy would become the second Plushenko, but it didn’t work out at all. In these days, in these months, his fate is being decided. Maybe he will leave altogether, because sometimes it seems that everything has been exhausted - both patience and trust.

What are our chances for the European Championship?

Dmitry Aliev is still in juniors, but his coach decided that he could compete with adults and took third place in Russia, which is quite good. Alexander Samarin is also yesterday's junior and silver medalist of the adult national championship. Mikhail Kolyada could not perform quads last year, but now he has mastered them. He can take third place or even second. And, if we continue this “even”, then the first, if the favorite - the Spaniard Xavier Fernandez - does not get in shape. I think it's time for Fernandez to leave after the Olympics: he can no longer master the jumps that younger competitors do.

As for women, Evgenia Medvedeva and Zagitova have the greatest chances for gold. But in pairs I think that Evgenia Tarasova - Vladimir Morozov can perform well. In dancing, Ekaterina Bobrova-Dmitry Solovyov has good chances for second place.

What tasks are set for the athletes at this Euro?

Julia Vyacheslavovna Lipnitskaya - Russian figure skater, participant in figure skating competitions in Olympic Games in Sochi (2014), who received the title of champion in the team composition. Honored Master of Sports of the Russian Federation (2014).

Russian figure skating star, Olympic champion Yulia Lipnitskaya was born on June 5, 1998 in Yekaterinburg. The young athlete began her career when she was barely 4 years old. In early childhood, not being able to pronounce words well, the girl called herself "Olympic" instead of "Lipnitskaya", which later turned out to be a kind of foresight of her own fate.

Mom raised the child alone, as her father left her before the birth of her daughter. Daniela Leonidovna brought the baby to a local school in the Lokomotiv Sports School. The first coaches of Yulia - Elena Levkovets and Marina Voitsekhovskaya - not only became the idols and the best teachers of the girl, but also gave her the opportunity to continue her journey in one of the most beautiful sports.

Mom Daniela Leonidovna, who chose for her daughter exactly figure skating, did not even suspect what successes the little daughter would achieve in the near future. After all, initially the goal was to improve the health of the girl and do something useful and exciting.

Six years later, the Moscow stage of the biography of Yulia Lipnitskaya began. The athlete moved to Moscow with her mother. The reason for the move was the high hopes that were placed on the skater. Everything that could be taught to Yulia in Yekaterinburg, she learned.

The girl was assigned to the Moscow SDYUSSHOR No. 37. Yulia got into a group with a famous one that trains athletes in single skating. Igor Pashkevich also helped in the preparation of the young athlete.

Figure skating

Yulia has by nature incredible flexibility and good stretch. It was these qualities that allowed Lipnitskaya to perform the most difficult elements that adults and experienced athletes have been perfecting for years. By the end of 2009, the skater could perform all triple jumps perfectly.

In the 2009-2010 season, the figure skater took part in the Russian championship and entered the top five winners. The next season, in which Yulia took part already as an adult athlete, became a landmark for her too: the girl took 4th place.

In 2011-2012, the Russian woman visited the Grand Prix, which was held in Poland, and won it. After that, Julia began to win only prizes. And already in Italy, the skater again took the gold. Then there was a victory in Canada, where Yulia showed herself worthy and managed to significantly outperform her main rival.

Soon the Russian figure skater went to the Russian Championship with the main goal - to win. Julia succeeded. The athlete deservedly received silver in this championship. The next step was the victory at the World Junior Championships. Lipnitskaya was able to win gold medal and get ahead of the famous American, who was predicted to win.

Julia began to prepare for the Olympics in Sochi in advance. The first was the victory in the 2012-2013 season in the tournament, which was held in Finland. After that, the athlete achieved victory in China and in France already in adult competitions.

The victory in Paris became a double for the skater: Lipnitskaya was able not only to win gold, but also to get the maximum level. But Julia did not compete in the Grand Prix final. The young athlete was injured, due to which she could not go on the ice. The girl missed not only the final, but also the Russian Figure Skating Championship in 2013.

Only in the second half of the 2012-2013 season did the skater manage to take the fifth position in the Russian Championship. It was the first outing after the injury. After this tournament, the stellar period of the biography of Yulia Lipnitskaya began, the athlete again began to take prizes.

The World Championship turned out to be a prize for the skater. Julia won silver in Milan. Of course, after the injuries that the athlete received, she needed some time to rehabilitate. But Lipnitskaya quickly regained her strength and entered the Olympic season again as a winner.

Competitions in Finland, which took place in the 2013-2014 season, brought Yulia victory. Canada Grand Prix new victory. In the Grand Prix Final, Lipnitskaya placed second due to a small mistake she made in her program.

A landmark victory for the athlete can be called gold at the European Championships in 2014. The figure skater not only received a gold medal, but also outstripped her main competitors by quite a large number of points. The girl skated the program perfectly and deserved to win. It is noteworthy that in this championship, Yulia's rivals were experienced colleagues who won prizes more than once. At the European Championships in 2014, the girl turned out to be the youngest.

Young Lipnitskaya receives strong support from her mother, who accompanies the athlete at all competitions. They are together when Julia wins and when there are falls. Mom for a skater is the most important and main man, which Yulia has repeatedly spoken about in her own interviews.

Olympics in Sochi

The fact that Yulia Lipnitskaya will represent her country at the Olympics in Sochi was quite expected. The girl managed to achieve results that some athletes can only dream of. Lipnitskaya was the main hope of the Russian figure skating team.

IN team competition in figure skating, which took place on February 6, 8 and 9 in Sochi, Yulia Lipnitskaya became the Olympic champion. She won and skated both programs perfectly. It was Lipnitskaya who won the largest number points that helped the Russian figure skating team. The girl performed very difficult elements in the performance and received all possible bonuses. To date, Yulia Lipnitskaya is the youngest Olympic champion in the country.

In February 2014, it became known that Yulia Lipnitskaya was awarded the title of Honored Master of Sports of the Russian Federation. This event was a great incentive for the athlete, when in the same month the girl took part in the women's short program figure skating competition. Russia was represented by two figure skaters - 15-year-old Yulia Lipnitskaya and 17-year-old. After the short program, Yulia Lipnitskaya took fifth place, since.

On February 20, 2014, the decisive rental took place - a free program. Yulia Lipnitskaya performed to the music of the legendary film Schindler's List. The athlete performed perfect jumps and unique spins, but a few moments before the final, the skater fell.

As a result, the 15-year-old athlete showed the fifth result in the sum of both programs. That Olympics was unconditionally won by Adeline, giving Russia the first gold in the modern history of women's single skating.

Yulia Lipnitskaya, who managed to achieve incredible success, is a very young girl. Therefore, fans and fans of figure skating were sure that more than one Olympics awaited Lipnitskaya ahead.

After the Olympics

After the Olympics in Sochi, Yulia Lipnitskaya did not rest on her laurels. The skater started the next season at the Grand Prix stage in China, where she skated the short program and became the leader. But, unfortunately, the next day after the success, an unfortunate fall happened: the girl's free program failed. In total, the athlete managed to gain a foothold in 2nd place.

The accumulated fatigue was the cause of an unfortunate defeat in Barcelona and Russia. At home, the girl, according to the results of the free program, was in 5th position and was not included in the team for the European Championship.

Yulia Lipnitskaya started the new season at the Finlandia Trophy, where she was able to take 2nd place. Two weeks later, in the American Milwaukee, the Russian woman got 6th place at the stage of the Skate America Grand Prix series. On national championship luck turned away from Yulia again: the girl ended up in the middle of the table. Yulia was included in the Russian national team as a substitute.

In November 2015, Yulia Lipnitskaya changed her coach Eteri Tutberidze, Alexey Urmanov undertook to prepare the athlete for further competitions. Training took place in Sochi.

No matter how dark and light stripes alternate in sports biography this beautiful figure skater, Yulia, of course, should have had a bright future. Not only Russian fans of the girl were sure of this, but also foreign fans of the figure skater's sports talent. For example, The Guardian wrote about the abilities of Yulia Lipnitskaya. The publication called the girl an unusually gifted figure skater and a rising star, who overshadowed even the famous with her skating.

However, after the Olympics, the figure skater's star began to gradually fade away.

Personal life

With the move to Sochi, where the athlete is now training under the guidance of Alexei Urmanov, there have been changes in Yulia Lipnitskaya's personal life. The girl escaped from the custody of her mother and, as can be seen from the photographs on the page in " Instagram”, Now he has time not only to prepare for further games, but also to relax.

17-year-old Julia spent time with her colleague Vladislav Tarasenko when he came to Sochi. According to media reports, the young athlete also dreams of changing the place of training and moving to a southern city.

At the end of 2015, information also appeared on the Web about the romance of a young figure skater with an athlete Maurice Kvitelashvili. Yulia was introduced to a young man by a friend - a figure skater, world champion in 2015.

While training in Sochi, Yulia Lipnitskaya mastered the makeup technique, having graduated from the Make-up ART Stylish beauty school. This skill is necessary for professional skaters to prepare for competitions on their own.

The childhood of Yulia Lipnitskaya

The girl was born in Yekaterinburg. At four, her mother brought her to the skating rink and enrolled her in the figure skating section, namely, in the Lokomotiv Sports School, where Elena Levkovets became the girl's first coach.

The upbringing lay on the shoulders of the mother, since Yulia's father did not live with them, and she never saw him. Due to the fact that from early childhood the little athlete took a lot of time to train, she did not attend school, but was in the so-called home schooling.

Being a naturally gifted child with an incredible stretch, Yulia almost immediately began to make progress, standing out among her figure skater peers. Her first coach is still watching how the sports career of her young pupil is developing, rejoices and worries about her.

The first successes of Yulia Lipnitskaya in figure skating

Since at twelve the skater showed more than great results, her mother decided to move to Moscow. Thanks to this, Yulia had the opportunity to work with the best coaches countries. Almost immediately it became clear that this decision was the right one. In the 2009-10 season, Yulia was able to get to the fifth position at the national championship among juniors. A year later, she no longer competed among juniors, but with "adults" at the Russian Championship, where she immediately became fourth.

Yulia Lipnitskaya at international competitions

It is known that the ISU allows athletes to participate in international competitions juniors only from a certain age, which Yulia just reached in the 2011-12 season. The debut took place in Poland at the Junior Grand Prix, where the athlete immediately became the champion. She won both the stage in Italy and the final in Quebec.

Surprisingly, the victory in the final was won by Julia in both the free and short program. Her main rival there was Polina Shelepen, who was seventeen points behind Lipnitskaya.

In 2012, at the national championship, the figure skater was third in the short program, but in free program won. Thus, according to the results, she became a silver medalist. In the same year, she won the junior championship of Russia. And again, her main rival was Shelepen, who was more than nine points behind Yulia and took second place.

Yulia Lipnitskaya told the truth about the apartment "gifted" to her

In the same year, the girl, having arrived at the World Junior Championships, stood on the highest step of the podium, leaving Gracie Gold behind. It turned out that in all international competitions in which Lipnitskaya took part, she won only first places.

Lipnitskaya preparing for the Olympics in Sochi

In Finland, the victory was again for Yulia. She participated in the Espoo tournament, which was held in Finland. Thus began the preparation of the athlete for her first Olympics. This was followed by victories in adult competitions, first in China, then in France. It was in France that Julia not only won, she managed to get the maximum level and all kinds of bonuses.

With so many victories, the figure skater did not compete in the Grand Prix finals, the cause was an injury. She also had to miss the national championship in 2013. In the second season of 2012-13, the athlete took to the ice for the first time after an injury, taking part in the Russian Championship. On it, she became the fifth. After that, only victories followed again.

At the World Championships held in Milan, she stood on the second step of the podium. With such results, the skater approached the Olympic season.

Yulia Lipnitskaya at the Sochi Olympics

The very first performance of Yulia in the team competitions of the Sochi Olympics attracted the attention of the whole world to her. The girl won brilliant victory, two times ideally rolling back the program. It was she who brought the most points to the team result. Unfortunately, the performance in individual competitions was not so successful. There Lipnitskaya became only fifth due to several falls. Nevertheless, in the history of the Olympics, she is the youngest champion, winner of a gold medal. She performed in the same team with such stars as Evgeni Plushenko, Maxim Trankov, Tatyana Volosozhar, Elena Ilinykh, Nikita Katsalapov and others.

In the 2013-14 season, a talented figure skater took silver in the Grand Prix finals due to the fact that she made a blot in the program. But at the European Championships, the result was an indisputable victory, while Yulia turned out to be the youngest of the competitors.

Yulia Lipnitskaya: performance at the Olympics in Sochi

In February, she became the Honored Master of Sports. The girl began to prepare for the next Olympics, where, most likely, she could also become a champion in individual wrestling.

Personal life of Yulia Lipnitskaya

The main person in the world for Yulia is her mother, who has been her close friend all her life. She accompanies her daughter, sharing the joy of victories with her, she is there when rare defeats and injuries occur. More than once, the athlete said a lot of warm words about her mother.

Julia Lipnitskaya now

In August 2017, information appeared in the press about the end of Yulia Lipnitskaya's sports career. As it turned out, the 18-year-old figure skater made this decision back in April. Reasons for leaving big sport Julia declined to comment.

Yulia's losing streak began back in 2016, when she took only 7th place in the national championship. The following year, she did not get to the Russian Championship due to an injury that she received not while skating, but falling on the sidewalk. The girl had to miss the competition due to treatment. At the same time, according to her mother, she suffered from anorexia since 2014, which could not but affect sports failures.

Yulia Lipntsikaya is a well-known figure skater who recently announced the end of her sports career. Many people think that anorexia is the reason for this. Fans want to know where Yulia Lipnitskaya, the skater, is now, what she does, and also want to see her before and after photos.

Recently there have been rumors that figure skater Yulia Lipnitskaya has anorexia. On the Internet you can find photos before her illness and after treatment. Where is she now? These and other questions can be found in this article.

Julia was born in 1998, June 5 in Yekaterinburg. Her dad left the family when her mother was still pregnant, so Yulia grew up without a father. At the age of 4, she was sent to artistic skating, only to find a passion for the girl in life. However, she liked this sport so much that she decided to do it professionally and connect her fate with skating.

After graduating from the children's figure skating school, Yulia enters the school of Eteri Tutberidze, one of the most famous coaches in women's single skating. Since then, a white streak began in Lipnitskaya's career.

A long period of junior and then adult competitions, various cups and Grand Prix began. But Julia gained real world fame by performing a number in a red coat dedicated to the film "Schindler's List" at the 2014 Sochi Olympics, which brought her victory. Her performance so touched not only Russian, but also other fans, that she received a standing ovation.

For example, Steven Spielberg, the director of the film Schindler's List, sent Yulia a letter in which he expressed gratitude for her incarnation as a girl in a red coat. But Yulia failed to get a gold medal - the skater made some mistakes in singles and free skating.

Important! Yulia Lipnitskaya became the youngest winner of the adult Olympic Winter Games!

After that, a stellar period began in the career of figure skater Yulia Lipnitskaya, who had not yet become ill with anorexia, dividing her life into before and after. The Times magazine put her on the cover of their issue, wanting to know where she is now and what she is doing, calling her one of the best figure skaters in the world. However, this brought not only a reason for pride, but also great inconvenience. She could not train as before because of the close attention to her fans.

Injuries received during previous performances and trainings made themselves felt. Once, Julia did not take part in the competition due to a back injury. Since then, she seems to be haunted by failure. At the 2015 Russian Championship, she took only ninth place.

November 2015 began with her decision to change coaches. The reason was her scandal with Eteri Tutberidze. The elder Lipnitskaya constantly interfered in her daughter's training, which the famous coach did not like at all, and then Yulia and Eteri's scandals and quarrels began.

Julia decides to leave Moscow and move to Sochi, which she does. Alexei Urmanov becomes her coach. However, the change of coach did not help her achieve heights. At the Russian Championship in 2016, Yulia Lipnitskaya moves from 9th place to only 8th place.

Soon she went to Austria, during the performance she burst the fibers in the adductor thigh muscle.

Interesting! At the championship in Austria, the athlete skated with a serious injury and never once showed that she was in pain!

The doctors immediately pronounced a disappointing verdict - not to get out of bed for a month. For an athlete, a month-long absence from training can end in disastrous results. But Yulia Lipnitskaya did not listen to doctors. That is why she took 8th place in the Russian Championship - due to a hip injury, Yulia could not perform tricks well.

This was not her only problem. Yulia did not go to the Chelyabinsk Championship due to an injury hip joint and post-traumatic arthritis.

Disease

In 2016, the figure skater begins to grow and gain weight. She began to gain weight rapidly. Figure skaters are strictly forbidden to get fat, so Yulia Lipnitskaya begins to lose weight urgently. Her irregular diet and hard training led her to become anorexic. Her family says she hasn't eaten for days. Deterioration of well-being made itself felt.

Interesting! The athlete began a hormonal failure, and she gained weight, even when she did not eat anything!

Yulia Lipnitskaya was sent to the European clinic to be treated for anorexia for three months. After such a break, there could be no question of continuing a sports career. Skipping workouts, numerous injuries, worsening health after pills - all this was the reason for the announcement of Yulia's retirement from figure skating.

With this, the mother of Yulia Lipnitskaya turned to the Russian Figure Skating Federation. The leaders said that they would meet with the champion and Alexei Urmanov after the skates in Sochi to discuss this decision.

Future life

In 2017, Yulia and her mother moved into an apartment on New Moscow, allocated to them for the victory in Sochi. Prior to that, they lived in rented apartments.

Once Julia posted a photo in social network"Vkontakte", where her fans said that she was pregnant, because Yulia recovered significantly after treatment for anorexia. To caustic comments, Lipntsikaya replied that she no longer wanted to be thin, she was tired of weighing 37 kilograms.

The head of the Figure Skating Federation, Valentin Piseev, said that the decision to leave her was made during her treatment in Europe. Her mother says the same. However, Yulia's coach, Alexei Urmanov, refused to satisfy the request to end the figure skater's career and is waiting for the September skates in Sochi.

Many journalists and athletes supported Yulia in their decision to leave the sport. It was said that anorexia was incompatible with figure skating, so the end of her career was only a matter of time.

Lipnitskaya herself explained her departure by the fact that she no longer wanted to go on the ice. Figure skating no longer attracted an Olympic champion. Ahead of her was a different life, studying at a university, an interesting profession.

Important! On September 9, 2017, the Figure Skating Federation announced the termination of Yulia Lipnitskaya's sports career.

In October, Julia tried herself as sports commentator. On October 20, the Grand Prix stage took place, which lasted more than eight hours. Lipnitskaya spent all this time on the air. Since then, she has been commenting on figure skating on the Telesport TV channel.
