An excerpt characterizing Chashchina, Irina Viktorovna

Soon after uncle, she opened the door, obviously a barefoot girl by the sound of her feet, and through the door with a large tray in her hands came a fat, ruddy, beautiful woman 40 years old, with a double chin, and full, ruddy lips. She, with hospitable representativeness and attractiveness in her eyes and every movement, looked round at the guests and bowed respectfully to them with an affectionate smile. Despite the thickness of more than usual, forcing her to put forward her chest and stomach and hold her head back, this woman (uncle's housekeeper) stepped extremely lightly. She walked over to the table, set down the tray, and with her white, chubby hands deftly removed and arranged the bottles, snacks, and treats on the table. Having finished this, she moved away and stood at the door with a smile on her face. “Here she is and me! Do you understand your uncle now?" her appearance told Rostov. How not to understand: not only Rostov, but also Natasha understood the uncle and the meaning of frowned eyebrows, and the happy, self-satisfied smile that wrinkled his lips a little while Anisya Fyodorovna entered. On the tray were a herbalist, liqueurs, mushrooms, black flour cakes on yurag, honeycomb, boiled and effervescent honey, apples, raw and roasted nuts, and nuts in honey. Then Anisya Fyodorovna brought jam with honey and sugar, and ham, and chicken, freshly fried.
All this was Anisya Fyodorovna's household, collection and jam. All this smelled and resonated and had the taste of Anisya Fyodorovna. Everything resonated with juiciness, purity, whiteness and a pleasant smile.
“Eat, young lady countess,” she kept saying, giving Natasha one thing, then another. Natasha ate everything, and it seemed to her that she had never seen or eaten such cakes on yuraga, with such a bouquet of jams, nuts on honey, and such a chicken. Anisya Fyodorovna went out. Rostov and his uncle, washing down their dinner with cherry liqueur, talked about past and future hunting, about Rugai and the Ilaginsky dogs. Natasha, with sparkling eyes, sat straight up on the sofa, listening to them. Several times she tried to wake Petya to give him something to eat, but he said something incomprehensible, obviously not waking up. Natasha was so cheerful at heart, so happy in this new environment for her, that she was only afraid that the droshky would come for her too soon. After an accidental silence, as almost always happens with people who receive their acquaintances for the first time in their house, the uncle said, answering the thought that his guests had:
“So I’m living out my life… If you die, it’s a pure march—nothing will be left.” What a sin then!
Uncle's face was very significant and even beautiful when he said this. At the same time, Rostov involuntarily remembered everything that he had heard good things from his father and neighbors about his uncle. My uncle had a reputation throughout the whole neighborhood of the province as the noblest and most disinterested eccentric. He was called upon to judge family affairs, he was made an executor, secrets were trusted to him, he was elected judge and other positions, but he stubbornly refused public service, spending autumn and spring in the fields on his brown gelding, sitting at home in winter, lying in his overgrown summer garden.
- Why don't you serve, uncle?
- He served, but quit. I'm not fit, it's a clean march, I can't make out anything. It's your business, and I'm not smart enough. As for hunting, it's another matter, it's a pure march! Open that door, he shouted. - What did they shut up! - The door at the end of the corridor (which uncle called the kolidor) led to an idle hunting room: that was the name of the human for hunters. Bare feet quickly slapped and an invisible hand opened the door to the hunting room. From the corridor, the sounds of a balalaika were clearly audible, which was apparently played by some kind of master of this craft. Natasha had been listening to these sounds for a long time and now went out into the corridor to hear them more clearly.
- This is my coachman Mitka ... I bought him a good balalaika, I love it, - said my uncle. - It was customary for my uncle that when he came home from hunting, Mitka would play the balalaika in the bachelor's hunting lodge. Uncle loved to listen to this music.
“How good, really excellent,” said Nikolai with some involuntary disdain, as if he was ashamed to admit that these sounds were very pleasant to him.
- How great? - Natasha said reproachfully, feeling the tone in which her brother said this. - Not great, but it's a charm, what is it! - Just like mushrooms, honey and uncle's liqueurs seemed to her the best in the world, so this song seemed to her at that moment the height of musical charm.
“More, please, more,” Natasha said at the door, as soon as the balalaika fell silent. Mitka tuned in and again valiantly rattled the Lady with busts and interceptions. Uncle sat and listened, his head tilted to one side with a slight smile. The motif of the Lady was repeated a hundred times. The balalaika was tuned several times and the same sounds rattled again, and the listeners did not get bored, but only wanted to hear this game again and again. Anisya Fyodorovna came in and leaned her fat body against the lintel.
“If you please listen,” she said to Natasha, with a smile very similar to her uncle’s smile. “He plays well with us,” she said.
“He’s doing something wrong in this knee,” my uncle suddenly said with an energetic gesture. - Here it is necessary to scatter - a clean march - scatter ...
– Do you know how? Natasha asked. Uncle smiled without answering.
- Look, Anisyushka, that the strings are intact, or something, on the guitar? I haven’t taken it in my hands for a long time - it’s a pure march! abandoned.
Anisya Fyodorovna willingly went with her light step to carry out her master's order and brought the guitar.
Uncle, without looking at anyone, blew off the dust, tapped the lid of the guitar with his bony fingers, tuned it, and straightened himself in his chair. He took (with a somewhat theatrical gesture, leaving the elbow of his left hand) the guitar above the neck and winking at Anisya Fyodorovna, he began not the Lady, but took one sonorous, clear chord, and measured, calmly, but firmly began to finish the well-known song at a very quiet pace: and ice pavement. At the same time, in time with that sedate joy (the same that Anisya Fyodorovna's whole being breathed), the motive of the song sang in the soul of Nikolai and Natasha. Anisya Fyodorovna blushed and, covering herself with a handkerchief, laughingly left the room. Uncle continued to cleanly, diligently and energetically firmly finish the song, looking with a changed inspired look at the place from which Anisya Fyodorovna had left. A little bit something laughed in his face on one side under a gray mustache, especially laughed when the song dispersed further, the beat accelerated and something came off in places of busts.
- Charm, charm, uncle; more, more, ”Natasha shouted as soon as he finished. She jumped up from her seat, hugged her uncle and kissed him. - Nikolenka, Nikolenka! she said, looking round at her brother and as if asking him: what is this?
Nikolai also really liked the uncle's game. Uncle played the song a second time. The smiling face of Anisya Fyodorovna appeared again at the door, and from behind her there were still other faces ... "Behind the cold key, she shouts: wait a girl!" my uncle played, again made a deft enumeration, tore it off and moved his shoulders.
“Well, well, my dear, uncle,” Natasha groaned in such an imploring voice, as if her life depended on it. Uncle stood up and as if there were two people in him - one of them smiled seriously at the merry fellow, and the merry fellow made a naive and neat trick before the dance.
- Well, niece! - shouted the uncle, waving his hand to Natasha, tearing off the chord.
Natasha threw off the handkerchief that was thrown over her, ran ahead of her uncle and, propping her hands on her hips, made a movement with her shoulders and stood.
Where, how, when she sucked into herself from that Russian air that she breathed - this countess, brought up by a French emigrant, this spirit, where did she get these techniques that pas de chale should long ago have been forced out? But these spirits and methods were the same, inimitable, not studied, Russian, which her uncle expected from her. As soon as she stood up, she smiled solemnly, proudly and cunningly cheerfully, the first fear that gripped Nikolai and all those present, the fear that she would do something wrong, passed and they were already admiring her.
She did the same thing and did it so exactly, so quite exactly, that Anisya Fyodorovna, who immediately handed her the handkerchief necessary for her work, burst into tears through laughter, looking at this thin, graceful, so alien to her, educated countess in silk and velvet. who knew how to understand everything that was in Anisya, and in Anisya's father, and in her aunt, and in her mother, and in every Russian person.
“Well, the countess is a pure march,” said the uncle, laughing joyfully, having finished the dance. - Oh yes, niece! If only you could choose a good fellow for you, - march is a clean business!

The girl's mother was a teacher at a music school, and therefore, from early childhood, at the insistence of her parent, Ira began to master playing the piano. It is worth noting that in childhood Chashchina was a fairly complete child, and for this reason, when the baby was only six years old, the family council decided to send her to swimming, as well as to the rhythmic gymnastics section. Ira's grandfather also went in for sports in his youth, in particular, high jumps, and therefore he was directly involved in physical development granddaughter, helping her master new elements for herself. In just a year, the girl from a chubby and clumsy child turned into the leader of her sports section, however, she decided to leave the music school first, and after swimming, in order to fully focus on the main thing - rhythmic gymnastics. Irina Chashchina - personal life

For her beauty and cold severity, Irina, at the dawn of her sports career, received the nickname "Snow Queen", and later the gymnast also received the unspoken title of "Miss Elegance" in rhythmic gymnastics. At the height of her career, being at the peak of her fame, Irina often posed for popular men's glossies, in particular, she twice appeared on the pages of the domestic version of the cult edition "MAXIM". It should be noted that the gymnast took part in rather frank and provocative photo shoots: she starred in translucent underwear and even topless.

A novel by Irina Chashchina and figure skater Ruslan Goncharov

In 2006, Irina took part in the popular TV project "Dancing on Ice", where she paired with the famous Ukrainian figure skater Ruslan Goncharov. Such dance projects around the world have always been famous for their lamorous consequences, and this trend has not bypassed Irina and Ruslan. The athletes got along so well and worked together, and their performances were so sensual that soon everyone was talking about a possible romance between young people. Appearing at events outside the project, they behaved like a couple in love, flirted and willingly posed for photographers. And after a successful performance in the second round of the show, Ruslan, in front of everyone, gently kissed his partner, and no one dared to call this kiss friendly.

Ruslan and Irina really looked good together and could have become a great couple in life, if not for one “but” - Goncharov at that time was officially married to his partner in pair skating, figure skater Elena Grushina. Around this period, the first rumors about a discord in the family of athletes appeared in the press, and, of course, Chashchina was immediately blamed for what was happening. Then the gymnast gave an official comment, stating that between them and Ruslan there are exceptionally friendly and partnership relations, but nothing more. For some time, the hype subsided, but at the beginning of 2007, a real scandal erupted when it became known that Grushina had filed for divorce. This time, none of the participants in this love triangle commented on what was happening. In 2008, the skaters, nevertheless, finally broke up, however, Goncharov’s relationship with Chashchina had also ended by that time, so, contrary to the expectations of the fans, there was no continuation of the romance between the gymnast and the skater.

He began to look after her beautifully and soon made a marriage proposal to the girl, however, was refused. Irina was not at all in a hurry to part with her freedom, and therefore was playing for time. But the businessman was very persistent in this regard, and in 2011 the beauty gave up. At their magnificent wedding, among the guests were Dmitry Medvedev and his wife, who at that time served as president of the country. The thing is that Evgeny and Dmitry Anatolyevich have been friends since school, so the politician gladly accepted the invitation to the wedding of his close friend.

In 1999, there were competitions - the European Championship in the Spanish city of Zaragoza (gold), the World Championship in the Japanese city of Osaka (gold), the Cup of Russia (gold).

In 2001, a doping test showed that Alina Kabaeva and Irina Chashchina had furasemide. This diuretic medicine is not a dope in itself, but it is used as a means to lose weight. Since lighter weight in rhythmic gymnastics is an advantage, this drug is banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency. Gymnasts were disqualified for two years, with the opportunity to compete in the second year.

She did not become a champion, but the Olympics are the most prestigious competitions, with high competition, athletes with a minimum gap in points often find themselves on different steps of the podium. Olympic silver, of course, is a sporting success and a natural result of many years of daily work in gym.

After a successful performance at the Olympics, Irina Chashchina decides to stay in the sport. In 2005, at the World Championships, she became the third. After this competition, she decided to part with professional sports.

In 2006, she took part in the show "Dancing on Ice", performed with Ruslan Goncharov, took third place. Also this year she took part in A. Nemov's show "Legends of Sports".

In 2007, she participated in the creation of the Flexible Strength fitness program. In this program, she showed in an accessible form how to keep the body in good shape for any woman. It does not contain advice on how to lose weight without doing anything. But for those who are ready to work, the program shows how to achieve a good result based on exercises that have been used by professional gymnasts for several decades. Also in 2007, she became a dance and fitness expert for the Maxi Sport fitness club chain.

In 2007, she took part in the Races of the Grand Prix Radio Monte Carlo, was the debutante of the Vienna Ball, which was held in Moscow. She took part in the show "Flights of Time", which took place in the cities of Krasnoyarsk and Nizhny Novgorod.

In 2008, the athlete decided to work as a civil servant - she became the deputy prefect of the North Moscow district for tourism and sports. Working, studying at the Academy public service which she successfully completed. But the work routine of an official is very different from sports life, which the gymnast is used to, so Irina Chashchina left the Moscow prefecture already in 2011, resigning of her own free will.

In 2008, she won the show "Circus with Stars", performed together with Valery Nikolaev.

In 2009, Irina Chashchina tried herself in cinema, played the main female role in the action movie The Way. Director V. Pasichnik invited her to try herself in an acting role. In the film, she was a gymnast who was involved in an action-packed story with fights and gunfights. For the sake of filming, she refused to participate in the elections of the Omsk Legislative Assembly.

Personal life

In 2011, she married Evgeny Arkhipov, a friend of Dmitry Medvedev, who was the president of Russia at the time of the wedding, and attended the wedding ceremony with his wife. Young people met for a long time, Eugene made an offer to Irina several times, but she agreed to unite fate with him only the third time. For so long, the lovers could not get married at all because of disagreements, it was just that the husband disappeared at work for too long, traveled a lot on business matters, Irina Chashchina herself was a very busy person. But love won over the desire for a career, young people got married and created family comfort, even though the two of them devote a lot of time to work.

Husband Yevgeny Arkhipov for some time, together with Dmitry Medvedev, visited sports school, engaged in kayaking. Since 2008, he has headed the All-Russian Federation of kayaking and canoeing.

Irina Viktorovna Chashchina dreamed of opening her own gymnastic center. Since 2012, she has been holding tournaments of the regional level "Hope of Russia" in Omsk. In 2013, she opened the Irina Chashchina rhythmic gymnastics school in the city of Barnaul, where children can practice this beautiful sport on highest level, after all educational process the world famous champion controls and directs in the right direction, she is able to ensure sports growth.

Professionalism in sports teaching is very important, because parents are always afraid to send their child to such a difficult, and dangerous sport like gymnastics - despite the grace, in this area of sports life there are injuries, including complex ones. So we can wish Irina Chashchina not only an influx of talented athletes, but also coaches who love their job, who will be able to safely train the younger generation.

Years of work in the Moscow prefecture came in handy for Irina - she now works as vice president of the All-Russian Federation of Rhythmic Gymnastics.

The life of a gymnast can be an example of how an ordinary girl, whose parents were not coaches at all (as is often the case in sports), made her way to the top of the sport. Moreover, in childhood, she combined music school, classes in the pool, successfully studied at school, and managed to walk with friends. And she didn't suffer at all. sports career.

It can be fully set as an example for coaches who are very jealous of their sport, in fact forbidding children to develop in any direction other than sports. As a result, it often happens that the child is physically and psychologically exhausted on sports activities, he has nothing to switch to, and he leaves the sport, having behind him only years of pain, injuries, and a childhood without playing in the yard with friends. And on the example of the biography of Irina Chashchina, we can see that her childhood non-sports activities helped her a lot in adulthood - she successfully engaged in different types activities - both those that are in contact with sports, and those that are far from physical activity.

The celebration was planned to be quiet and modest.

Only the closest people were invited, - Irina's grandmother Tamara Valentinovna told KP. - I came from Omsk, Irina's mother, aunt and cousin.

But a classmate and friend of the groom, President Dmitry Medvedev, prevented the wedding from being made an inconspicuous event, according to the 7 Days publication. Together with Irina's chosen one, businessman Evgeny Arkhipov, they were engaged in the rowing section. Spouse Chashchina even became a candidate for master in this sport, and later headed the All-Russian Federation of rowing and canoeing.

Due to his work schedule, Medvedev was only able to attend the official part.

It'll do for the first time! - the president joked after the kiss of the newlyweds, which, from excitement, came out of them, as it seemed to Medvedev, too short. - Work! This is my homework for you!

After the solemn part, Medvedev left, and his wife Svetlana Vladimirovna went along with the rest of the guests to a banquet arranged on a motor ship cruising along the Moscow River. The First Lady of the country presented the newlyweds with an icon depicting Saints Peter and Fevronia, the patrons of the family hearth. The first toast that Svetlana Medvedeva said was for family happiness and future heirs.

I really want to give birth! We both want a child, - Irina Chashchina admitted to reporters.

But back in March, the beautiful gymnast only laughed when she heard the question of when she would finally say goodbye to a free life.

But who knows! I'm still in search, - she then told Komsomolskaya Pravda by phone. - But a worthy candidate by that time had already appeared on the horizon. A couple of years ago, Irina, who by that time had become the deputy prefect of the Northern District of the capital, was on official business at the World Championships in rowing among juniors, which was held in Moscow. There was also Arkhipov, who had just headed the federation of rowers.

And at the buffet on the occasion of the closing of the championship, Evgeny Yuryevich suggested that I meet and drink coffee sometime, - Irina recalls. - I was delighted, because I immediately liked him for his modesty, simplicity and the fact that it was very interesting with him. But since I did not know anything about Arkhipov, after this proposal I decided to make inquiries about him through acquaintances. Most importantly, I had to find out if he had someone, not to mention if he was married. Because for me, dating a married man is completely unacceptable.

Arkhipov turned out to be a confirmed bachelor. Maybe that's why it took two whole weeks to wait for a call from him. Thus began their romance, in which short meetings were replaced by long partings.

We met, then suddenly diverged. But not because they quarreled, - says the gymnast. - Zhenya is a businessman, he always has a lot of important urgent matters, so he could disappear for a week, two, or even a month. Of course, these pauses both surprised and outraged me, although I did not show it. I didn't want to force things on my own. Let, I think, everything goes as it goes.

Arkhipov made an offer to Irina three times, and twice she refused. She was not sure that Eugene's feelings for her were strong enough, and she was tired of waiting. And only after the businessman asked her hand for the third time, she agreed. True, not immediately. To make a decision, Irina went to Italy for a few days - to sort out her own feelings ...

Chashchina's relatives liked her chosen one very much.

Eugene is very charming and very responsible, - says the gymnast's grandmother Tatyana Valentinovna. - The granddaughter is a serious purposeful person, they are very suitable for each other.

Mom Yevgeny Arkhipova is also delighted with her daughter-in-law. After the wedding, the newlyweds went on a honeymoon trip to Italy. “We will return to Russia after the New Year in early January,” Irina Chashchina told KP by phone. Photo “7 days”.
