Ski base "Adidas Skibase Olympic village" (jogging and sports training). Alpine skiing in the Olympic village Cross-country skiing Olympic village

After running became fashionable in Moscow, the issue of summer sports leisure has been resolved. But at minus 20, the call to lace up sneakers in a normal person causes only a reflex to twist a finger at the temple. Finding a worthy winter replacement for summer runs is also difficult because this activity is budgetary, does not require complex ammunition, and sleepy Moscow parks in the morning are beautiful and public venues.

Skating has become popular in Moscow, but this activity is more associated with mulled wine than with sports. Only cross-country skis remain, because you can ride them almost anywhere where there is snow. The problems are only in their reputation: at the thought of not mountainous, but regular skiing most of them have memories of out of breath schoolchildren being tortured by a physical teacher near a pond. It seems to be a joyful activity - frost, skiing, a hat with a pompom - but for some reason it doesn’t work to roll.

To reform the reputation of skis came from adidas. They realized that cross-country skiing is the most suitable sport for our latitudes, just technically complicated. To get rid of associations with school, lean grandfathers near Moscow and irony in the spirit of the Pep-See group, adidas put the base concept at the core of its ski promotion campaign. The gathering place before and after skiing is also important in the ski world - a whole culture of après-ski has formed in European resorts with its own style of clothing and social pastime. Cross-country skiing much more accessible than mountain ones, therefore the requirements for the base are much simpler. To drink hot tea and feed soup. To have a friendly coach help with the basics. Well, after skiing - socializing under the DJ.

What to bring

Wear warm, comfortable, loose-fitting clothing - and preferably with a water-repellent layer. Right at the base there are mannequins dressed in adidas ski suits, but they are not sold or rented here. But there is an interactive display with tips on how best to equip and ski. Well, since adidas Skibase is still a showcase of a sports brand, a monitor with its catalog is immediately placed - you can order clothes right from here.

Place

The structures of Roman Abramovich are related to Meshchersky Park, and, like everything they are related to - from the Garage Museum to New Holland in St. Petersburg - it is beautiful. In the summer, according to Wikipedia, there are honeysuckle, warty euonymus, lungwort, greenfinch, hoof, as well as runners. And in the winter, skiing until recently in Meshchersky Park could only be met with residents of the nearby writers' village of Peredelkino.

Now there's an adidas Skibase here. The building of the former sports equipment rental was taken as the basis for the construction. The design was created with an eye on high mountain chalets. The result was a warmly lit wooden one-story house with high windows at the very entrance to the park. Armchairs, a healthy touchscreen with a choice of ski uniforms, a vending machine with snacks, locker rooms with drawers (for 200 rubles you can change clothes and leave things or valuables here - in the administrator's safe) were placed in the lobby.

They also give out skis, poles and Fischer bindings, as well as flashlights on the forehead - for evening workouts. All this is given free of charge to those who signed up for classes in exchange for a deposit of 5,000 rubles, a student card or a driver's license. After training, everyone who has rented a box and/or skis can have free tea and biscuits at the reception desk. On the days when events are held here, DJs are invited to the base, they are treated to decent food and mulled wine - again, they don’t take money for all this. It is convenient to follow the announcements of events in facebook bases.

Workout

Ski trails radiate from the adidas Skibase with distances of 2, 6.4 and 10 km. Groups of up to 20 people walk along them, led by cheerful trainers - there is an option for beginners, there is for those who regularly attended physical education classes in school years. All instructors come from the Russian Ski Federation or are professionals with the appropriate coaching certificates, who, unlike your physical education teacher, are distinguished by a sympathetic attitude towards their wards. When the author of this text was half a kilometer behind, entangled in skis and poles, the coach returned to help me, giving me some practical advice on skating technique.

The cost of classes is graduated depending on the size of the group and the qualifications of the athlete. Introductory training for beginners, which you can attend until you have mastered the basic principles, is free (up to 20 people in a group, duration - 1 hour), group costs 600 rubles (up to 12 people in a group, duration - 1.5 hours), mini-group - 1600 rubles per person (2-4 people, duration - 1.5 hours), individual - 2600 rubles (duration 1.5 hours).

To sign up, you need to register on or call the base. Please note that the entrance there is carried out with the adidas universe card - it can be issued in the company's stores or received on the spot.

“We set ourselves the task of reviving the cross-country skiing trend. In the USSR, it was a popular sport, and in Russia, the popularity of skiing subsided, because in schools they were forced to ride and generally taught this sport incorrectly to children, which discouraged many from any desire. It is traditionally considered that this is a difficult sport: you put in a lot of effort - get ready, go somewhere by train, then you have an hour of training, and again shake home on the train. We wanted to recreate the atmosphere of a high-altitude resort with a cozy atmosphere - a little bit in the spirit of the video for George Michael's song "Last Christmas". To make it convenient to change clothes, there was a place to eat and warm up after classes, listen to music. All January holidays we had parties with food and DJs, and I noticed that every visitor after skiing spent at least an hour at the base. We count on amateurs or beginners: you can rent boots and skis from us, if you don’t have your own, many people skiing frightened off by the need to buy ammunition.

There is a lot of talk about the need to come up with a new identity for Russia - not only in a tourist version with an accordion and bears, but also one that is suitable for the domestic market. And the fact that Russians themselves associate cross-country skiing with the Scandinavian countries seems to be an unfortunate mistake. It is clear that the relevant ministries and departments should correct the situation, but the opening of the adidas Skibase is a small and wildly important step along the way.

Meshchersky Park can be reached by bus from the Filevsky Park metro station to the Meshchersky Pond stop and by train from the Kievsky railway station to the Skolkovo platform. By car you have to go to inside MKAD until the turn to Ryabinovaya street. Entrance to the base from the side of the Meshchersky pond.

Kamchatka is one of the most beautiful and interesting regions of Russia, but many travelers doubt whether this trip will justify their expectations. We share with you the most common stereotypes about Kamchatka.

  1. A trip to Kamchatka is only for the rich

Of course, this is by no means a cheap holiday destination, but it is quite comparable in price to traveling to Europe. If we talk about active foreign analogue tours, then it is worth comparing prices for Kamchatka trips with tours to Iceland, Costa Rica, Venezuela, South Africa, etc. However, you may get lucky with special deals tickets. They can be purchased for 20 thousand, if you take care of the purchase in advance.

  1. The valley of geysers was destroyed by a landslide

This is a very common stereotype, despite the fact that the Valley of Geysers is still one of the most visited places in Kamchatka. In addition, do not forget that Kamchatka is not only the Valley of Geysers, but also a large number of diverse, completely unique volcanoes, boat trips and thermal springs.

  1. Active recreation in Kamchatka is suitable only for experienced tourists

In reality, even climbing volcanoes is done by everyone: adults, children and the elderly. In addition, you always have the opportunity to choose programs that exclude overnight stays. field conditions and long passages. They are suitable for those who are not ready to give up the benefits of civilization.

  1. It is dangerous to rest in Kamchatka

To begin with, it should be noted that today the Kamchatka Territory has the lowest crime rate, at least among all regions of the Far East. All tourist programs include medical insurance in the price (even with helicopter evacuation from hard-to-reach places), equipment is constantly updated for active tours, guides and instructors are recertified annually. Therefore, do not be afraid: a trip to Kamchatka is no more dangerous journey than going fishing in the Moscow region.

  1. Unpredictable weather can ruin the whole trip

Of course, there is a certain “weather” factor, but do not despair. When developing tours, the sequence of certain excursions or activities may change in accordance with weather conditions.
