The TRP system is being introduced in Russia seriously and for a long time. And although the implementation of the standards is a voluntary matter, from this year the TRP badge gives points when entering the country's universities. This means that an applicant who has earned a gold or silver badge has an advantage in the competition. Let's figure it out: how are the TRP and the USE connected, how many points does the TRP badge add to the USE? The question is urgent, because it was on the twentieth of February that a campaign began in the country for the delivery of the TRP from schoolchildren.

How the TRP was revived

The Soviet GTO complex (“ready for labor and defense”) was revived by presidential decree in 2014. The goal is to improve the health of citizens, to encourage physical education and sports. According to the plan, schoolchildren will first pass the standards, then adult citizens.

However, the reforms stalled very quickly. The fact is that among schoolchildren, only a few began to take the TRP, not seeing practical meaning in these badges. For this reason, a proposal appeared in the government: “but why not make it so that the TRP standards add points to the exam?” The TRP, as you know, has three degrees: gold, silver and bronze. The gold and silver badge is now given extra points upon admission to higher educational institution.

TRP standards for universities in 2015

In 2015, as an experiment, schoolchildren began to take the TRP in 12 "pilot" regions. TRP badges - silver and gold - began to be taken into account when entering local universities. This arrangement has given rise to a number of misunderstandings.

Indeed, in St. Petersburg, for example, more than half of the applicants are immigrants. The city was one of the 12 "pilot" regions, and St. Petersburg universities added TRP scores to the Unified State Examination, but applicants from the Volga region or Siberia could not take the TRP at home and ended up in an unequal position compared to applicants from St. Petersburg.

TRP standards for universities in 2016

In that year, the innovation was extended to the whole country. Now universities in all regions can take into account the TRP badges by adding points to the USE results. You can also pass the standards in all regions. True, it is not convenient to do this everywhere, because you can pass the TRP to get points for the Unified State Examination only in special testing centers. In Crimea, for example, only two such centers have been created for the entire peninsula.

Today, there are many ways to increase your chances of getting into a prestigious university. Not only the USE result is taken into account, but also various sports, intellectual and creative achievements of applicants.

Universities independently decide how many points to award for a particular set of achievements. But the maximum number of additional points cannot exceed 10.

So, for what merit can you rise well in the list of applicants?

1) Successful writing of the final essay (up to 10 points).

Since 2014, graduates of Russian schools must write a final essay in literature without fail. The grading system is "pass" and "fail". In order to use the results of the essay upon admission, it is necessary to voice this desire of the selection committee. Then the work will be sent for re-checking and, based on its results, up to 10 points will be added to the results of the exam.

2) "Excellent" certificate and medal (up to 10 points).

Points for the “red” certificate also began to be added only in 2014. Medals "For special achievements in teaching" are now the same: they are not divided into gold and silver. When you receive "excellent" final grades in the certificate, you also receive a medal.

When entering a university, not only a school certificate is taken into account, but also a diploma of secondary vocational education, if you have one.

3) Sports achievements (up to 10 points; there is the possibility of entering out of competition).

From one to 10 additional points can be obtained for the "golden" TRP badge if it is received in the current year. To receive such a badge, you must successfully overcome 9 sports tests.

Winners and prize-winners of the Olympic, Paralympic and Deaflympics, World and European Championships, upon admission to a specialized university, can count on significant benefits up to admission without exams. In other universities, athletes can simply be awarded with additional points.

4) Participation in school Olympiads (up to 10 points; there is the possibility of entering out of competition).

There is already quite a long list. intellectual olympiads, conferences and creative competitions, which may affect the number of additional points of the applicant. Unfortunately, only one certificate can be used to benefit.

Winning national-level olympiads can give a graduate the right to be enrolled in a university out of competition. There are also intra-university Olympiads, the victory in which is a direct ticket to non-examination admission to the organizing university. Olympiads of a lower level can bring (again, depending on the university) from 1 to 10 additional points to the Unified State Examination or become a determining factor with the same indicators for several applicants.

The names of the Olympiads, which are taken into account by the selection committee, can be obtained from representatives of the universities you are interested in.

5) Personal portfolio.

At the moment, there is no unambiguous regulation for taking into account the personal achievements of applicants that are not related to the previous paragraphs. Compiling a portfolio is a personal matter for everyone, it is not officially required.

The portfolio may contain various attestation documents in school subjects, certificates for participation in competitions and olympiads (which you did not use in paragraph 4), certificates of participation in conferences, diplomas of completion of courses, etc.

It is most likely that the selection committee will take into account your participation in volunteer activities (from 1 to 4 points), as well as the results. In the near future, it may be possible to add to individual achievements.

Additional points for winning the Olympiads are given only in the absence of special admission rights without entrance examinations or the right to 100 points in the relevant subject.

Within each of the grounds 1.14.4 - 1.14.15, the provision of additional points is one-time (they are not supposed to be summed up for a victory in the same Olympiad, summation for different classes is allowed).

When providing additional points at once for several different types of grounds, the points are summed up. Moreover, if the sum of points for all reasons is more than 10, then the accrual of points in total is limited to 10 points.

Getting into a university can make it easier not only good results USE. Admissions committees add points for the individual achievements of the applicant.

A result of 100 points obtained at the end of the Unified State Examination guarantees admission to any university, but only a few graduates manage to get such an assessment. At the same time, you can also impress the admissions committee with other talents: in 2018, points are added to an applicant if he is awarded the TRP sign, has a gold or silver medal, wrote a graduation essay, and also for a number of other achievements. For this, a graduate can receive from 1 to 10 points to those already available.

Universities give from 1 to 10 points for the TRP gold badge. In Moscow State University, in particular, 2 points are added for this achievement, "Bauman" - 4 points, RSUH - 1 point. The badge, together with the relevant documents, must be presented before the start of the admission campaign, it is desirable that it be “fresh”.

Medals since 2014 are not distinguished by “colors” - that is, there is no division into “gold” and “silver”, although schools can issue both at their discretion. Now the medal is called "For Special Achievements in Teaching", it is awarded to schoolchildren who have only fives in their certificates. A medal can also increase the result of the Unified State Examination by 1-10 points, depending on the university. Moscow State University will add 5 points for a medal in 2018.

Participation in the Olympiads

Achievement portfolio

Experts advise schoolchildren to create a kind of portfolio of their successes (it is important that all of them be documented). Even if victories in some areas do not add points, among applicants for a place with the same number of points, as a rule, they choose someone who, in addition to a good certificate, also has some other individual achievements. Usually sports merit, participation in creative and intellectual competitions are taken into account.
