There are three types of swing: knees, pelvis and body.

2. Video lesson hip hop. Basic movement - Step.

Shows how to correctly combine steps with the main types of swing.

3. Video lesson hip hop. Basic movement - Running man (running man).

This element is very energetic and easy to learn. In order to make it easier to remember, it is necessary to divide it into two parts and study slowly. It is very easy to perform: on the count of one, you must raise your leg, and on the count of two, lower it. When you lower your leg, you need to put it a little further than the original position. The running man will make you look spectacular and energetic.

4. Video lesson hip hop. Basic movement - Chris cross.

This movement looks very good if it is performed dynamically to the music. In order to remember this element well, it must be learned by counting. Put your feet shoulder-width apart and under the count make a jump and put your legs crosswise, under the count of two do the jump again and put your feet in their original position. In the video tutorial, this movement is simple, but it needs to be well trained.

5. Video lesson hip hop. Basic movement - Roger Rebbit.

This movement will be a little more difficult than the previous ones. In a standing position, you need to raise left leg at the knee, bring it back and align it in a straight line with the body. With the same left foot, it is necessary, as it were, to knock out right leg and become and original position. Then the movement continues from one foot to the other. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-c6_IjNa4U

6. Video lesson hip hop. The base move is Monasteri.

In a standing position, along a small trajectory, you need to tap your toe on the floor, while touching the floor with your toe, you need to swing your knees on both legs. After touching, you need to do something like a rebound and go back along the same trajectory and do the same with the other leg.

7. Video lesson hip hop. Basic movement - Rev.

It is necessary to put your palms in front of your face and rhythmically, while tilting the body forward and backward, raise your hands alternately up, without unbending your elbows, but keep them in their original position.

These basic movements will help you learn how to dance, and video lessons will clearly demonstrate all the techniques of these movements. With their help, a beginner hip-hop dancer will improve his technique and ability to master this style. You need to relax and feel the rhythm of the music, forget about everything and succumb to the movement of your body.

The hip-hop dance style has gained its popularity all over the world, even small children are engaged in it. This style shows the individuality of each person, his charisma and self-confidence. Hip-hop for beginners video will help every novice dancer to understand the meaning and technique of movements.

Basic hip hop moves for beginners.

In hip hop, there are two main movements that you need to build on:

  • step - movement of the feet.

The training video will show you in detail in detail how to properly combine the swing of the knees with the movement of the legs. Basically there are two types of swing - down and up. It is necessary to completely relax and move down, while bending your knees, and vice versa, move up, as if pushing off.

Basic hip hop footwork.

There are quite a few basic hip-hop steps, here are some of them:

  1. HAPPY FEET. This movement is performed with a light swing at the knees. There are two options for performing this movement: the first is with feet on the floor, and the second is with one foot on the floor, the other in the air. The main technique for performing the HAPPY FEET movement is as follows: in a standing position, turn a little heel inward and start moving the feet first to the right side, while the left leg needs to be fixed on the toe. The same exercise is performed on the left side.
  2. Monasteries. In a standing position, make small tapping with the toe of the foot along the path. When the toe touches the floor, you need to swing your knees with both legs. After you make a touch with your toe, as if bounce and return to the original position along the same trajectory. The movements alternate and repeat the movements of the legs.
  3. Roger Rebbit. It is necessary in a standing position to raise the left leg and bend it at the knee, then wind it back and straighten it so that it is in line with the body. And with the same foot, you kind of knock out your right foot, continue to make movements from one foot to the other.
  4. FILA. Take a step to the side with your left foot, and with your right kick to the floor, in parallel with this, do a small swing with your knees. When you hit the floor, put this foot a little further than the original position and jump up. During the jump with the left foot, you need to make a kind of blow.

Absolutely everyone can learn to dance hip-hop, regardless of whether they know how to dance or not. The main perseverance and zeal to learn something new!

In any dance there is a list of basic movements that form it. The basic movements of hip-hop are distinguished by their diversity. This style originated as a street dance in which everyone showed their best. It is important that all movements are perfectly combined with the music to which they are performed. Music in hip hop is called beat. This rhythm can be hidden under words and other sounds. The main thing that is required of the dancer is to hear him and make movements to the beat.

Hip Hop Basics

This dance has over eighty basic movements. They are divided into three "schools":

  1. Old School - was popular from 1979 to 1990. It includes the most simple and popular movements. At this time, the most popular was the "upper" breakdance, that's what hip-hop dance is often called.
  2. The Middle School movements emerged in the decade from 1990 to 2000. Their founders were the cartoon character Bart Simpson, Janet Jackson and Bobby Brown. All sorts of steppes belong to this school.
  3. If you want to perform modern hip-hop dance, the New school is perfect for this. It includes movements that appeared after 2000. The famous Harlem Shake, which a few months ago was the most popular movement on the dance floors, belongs to this school.
  4. It is necessary to start mastering this dance with a swing and steps. We will talk about them further.

Groove

This term hides the swing - the movement of the body to the rhythm of the playing music. These light hip hop movements fall into three groups:

  1. Bounce - for each count, you need to smoothly bend your knees and move your body down. In order to work out this exercise, you need to put your feet shoulder-width apart and count. On the first count, the knees are bent, on the second they are straightened.
  2. Reverse "pump" - up. In this case, it is necessary to straighten the knees to the beat of the music, making movements with the body up.
  3. Fast pulsation - body movements are performed faster, for each half of the count.

Remember that these basic hip-hop movements are not independent elements, but a bundle between them. Kach allows you to make the dance plastic, and its other elements, along with it, turn out to be rhythmic and more beautiful. That is why the groove needs to be worked out in the first place. You can do this under the composition Fort Minor feat. Styles Of Beyond - Feel Like Home.

steppes

Another basic hip-hop movement is steps. They are used to change the direction of movement in the dance and turn around. Without them, it is impossible to participate in battles and create a full-fledged dance.

  1. Two step from the middle - imagine yourself on a dance mat with arrows (in your imagination you should be standing in its middle) pointing in different directions. For a bunch, use swing and move, first take a step back and return to the middle, then do the same forward, left, right and diagonally.
  2. For the second type of steps, you need to imagine yourself in front of a triangle. These basic hip-hop moves are performed alternately with the right and left foot through the kross step (cross step for changing legs). First with your right and then with your left foot you need to step on the imaginary vertices of the triangle.
  3. Sham rock - move diagonally in one direction and back. The movement starts with the left foot. She takes a diagonal step. Then the socks turn to the right side, the legs become close, the dancer stands on his toes and lowers himself to a full foot.

All these movements are repeated from the right leg in the opposite direction. When working out the steps, the knees should be slightly bent. You need to add a quality to the steps, and all the elements need to be made more voluminous - make the steps wider.

In the city, learning to dance hip-hop is easy if you enroll in a dance school or use the services of a personal trainer. As for provincial towns and rural areas, it is more difficult here. That is why many are interested in how to learn to dance hip-hop at home.

There are many benefits to exercising at home. Training takes place in a calm atmosphere, no one interferes with ridiculous advice and does not “tease”. The main thing is to have a mirror and suitable music. As a result, maximum concentration is achieved.

Before we delve into the topic, let's look at the hip-hop subculture and the musical direction that accompanies it. It all started in 1974 in New York. By that time, the components of the subculture, including MCing and graffiti, philosophy, DJing and breaking, beatboxing, slang and fashion, were formed. Hiphopers were considered people who mastered one of the directions.

If you study hip-hop, get knowledge in music, without it even a simple dance does not exist. At the end of the last century, hip-hop became an independent musical genre.

In general, this music has two main components. In the first place is the rhythm set by the DJ, followed by a rhyming recitative, characterized by rhythm.

  • Take care of the outfit and equipment. Loose clothing and comfortable shoes are suitable for hip-hop dancing. You will need a music center or compact player.
  • Start training with swings. Spread your legs, lower your arms and listen to the music. To concentrate, close your eyes and silently hum the words of the sounding song.
  • At the initial stage, learn to hear the beat. If you don't "catch" the beat, you won't be a hiphoper. Rocking, which is the fundamental movement, will help to do this. After catching a wave, move to complex movements.

Over time, you realize that looking at thematic photos and videos on the Internet, you will not learn anything - there are no clear movements in hip-hop.

They share different directions, each of which is characterized by its own movements. There is no logical or systematic connection between the movements, but they are set by the heart and mood of the dancer.

The main directions of hip-hop

Videos training

In each subsequent training, the skills will improve, but self-study will not allow you to leave the category of amateurs. You can become a professional only with the help of a coach who will point out mistakes and help correct mistakes.

Hip Hop Secrets for Guys

For many people, hip-hop is associated with energy, youth and individuality. It is not surprising that the number of teenagers who want to master this dance technique is increasing every day.

Continuing the topic of the article, I will talk about mastering hip-hop dance for guys. Any young person can learn the basic moves and become a dancer.

Not every male body is flexible and plastic, but a guy does not always need such qualities. Hip-hop, due to the variety of directions, is suitable for people of any physical fitness and physique.

  1. Dancing school . An efficient and effective way. Under the guidance of a trainer, quickly learn the basic movements. Although hip-hop is a free and anarchic dance, the basic movements exist. Having mastered these movements, you will overcome the first stage.
  2. Error correction . The teacher will point out the mistakes that you make while doing the hip-hop elements. He will back up when you switch to tricks of a high level of complexity. As a result, health will not suffer.
  3. Video footage . If you prefer home workouts, stock up on training videos. While studying at home, focus on basic skills, and interactive courses will help you achieve results.
  4. Practicing in front of a mirror . The use of a mirror will increase productivity. If you observe the movements in the process of training, this will improve the effect. So you will understand how you look from the outside.
  5. Hiphop parties . Another option that involves the presence of stubbornness and courage. We are talking about visiting special places where hiphopers gather. Prepare in advance for ridicule and unpleasant expressions regarding wrong actions and clumsiness.
  6. Compliance with the exercise regimen . The human body gets used to the changes. If you exercise at a certain time, the body will prepare for the moment of receiving loads.
  7. Training duration two hours . This time is enough to warm up and gain skills. At the same time, do not overload the body.
  8. Place and clothes . For classes at home, you need free space, comfortable clothes that do not restrict movement.
  9. Physical exercise . If you plan to study complex movements and master difficult acrobatic stunts, it does not hurt to pump up your arms and master the handstand. In the process of learning complex movements, I recommend that you protect yourself. Put something soft in the place of the possible fall.

Having reached the goal, you can easily take a pose in which relaxed people are usually found. By that moment, a powerful force will be concentrated inside the body, with the help of which you will be able to combine movements into a full-fledged dance corresponding to the rhythm of the music with lightning speed and smoothly. This is the art of hip-hop.

Video tips for beginners

A variety of music is played in advanced and trendy clubs. It is not easy for a person who dances to certain melodies and rhythms in such an environment. However, nothing will scare hiphopers, since dance moves are universal.

To become a hip hopper, you will need to learn the movements and spend a lot of time practicing. But after reaching the goal, no one will blame you for not knowing how to dance, and giving advice is inappropriate.

Remember, dance is an expression of the soul. If you find yourself on the dance floor, do not rush to demonstrate your skills. Listen to the rhythm. As a result, intuition will prompt a set of movements corresponding to the music.

Engage your entire body while dancing. Randomly waving your arms will not attract the attention of the opposite sex. Use the movements of the arms and legs, thanks to which you will look harmonious on the court.

Before going to the club, tune in to the positive and forget about the seriousness that you showed during training. Only in this case, dancing will bring pleasure, allow you to relax and catch the rhythm.

Each person has his own characteristics, and not everyone will immediately master the wisdom of dancing. If there is no sense of rhythm, and plasticity wants the best, homework will not bring results. Work with a professional.

In a few months of training, he will turn you into a pro. Later, share your skills and knowledge with your friends who will be amazed by the changes, because you will learn how to dance hip-hop professionally.

Video training "Basic movements of hip hop"

What forms the image of a dancer?

Before you start practicing, it is worth remembering the appearance of a hip-hoper. After all, after the dancer masters the basic movements of the dance, he will need to work on his image.

A typical hip hop wears:

  • loose-fitting sportswear. Wide leg jeans hang at the waist;
  • red baseball caps with a straight visor;
  • large sneakers, comfortable for performing complex movements with the feet and legs;
  • baseball jerseys, loose-fitting t-shirts;
  • hooded jackets;
  • loose hats.
  • jewelry: chains and key rings made of expensive metals.

The final image of a hip-hoper is formed by his hairstyle. As a rule, dancers of this direction wear either very short hair or dreadlocks.

How to dance hip hop?

To answer the question of how to perform the basic basic movements of the hip-hop style, it makes no sense to use words. At least because it's not so easy to do. The ideal training option is to watch the proposed video.

And for the end. It should be remembered: dance is a set of movements called a bunch. In order for the composition to look perfect, one should first master the main movements and connections, and only then proceed to the study of the entire dance.

Hip-hop is a whole culture that includes several areas - music, dance and graffiti. The culture originated in New York in the mid-90s of the last century and quickly spread around the world, becoming one of the main youth cultures.

In the first lesson, you will learn three basic hip-hop moves: tone wop, Brooklyn dance, and kriss kross. These movements are the basis of hip-hop dance - many dance sequences are built on them.

1. Tone wop

To begin with, when performing any movement in hip-hop, the groove is important. In other words, a dance. Hip-hop is not a robot dance, and the movements must be soft. This is important to remember.

Leg movements

Place your left foot forward in front of you, but not wide - as if you just took a step.
- "Close" the feet so that the socks are connected, and the heels move away from each other. In this case, the knees should also connect.
- Then "open" the feet by connecting the heels and moving the socks away.
- While you "close" and "open" your feet, bend your knees a little - this will make the movement look more interesting.
- Next, raise your right leg, bending it at the knee, so that the foot is approximately at the level of the knee of the left leg.
- Place your raised leg on the floor, slightly away from the other leg.
- "Close" the feet - the socks should connect, and the heels should move away from each other. In this case, the knees will also be next to each other.
- Now "open" the feet, connecting the heels and pushing the socks away.

You can take a step in any direction you want - back, to the side, or walk all the time only forward. But to begin with, we advise you to move in only one direction in order to understand the structure of movement.

This movement contains a certain rhythm - that is, on the count of "one" we take a step, on the count of "and" - "close" the feet, on the count of "two" - "open". At the same time, on the “and two” count, we accelerate a little, that is, first we take a step at the usual pace, and “close” and “open” stops a little faster.

Hand movements

1) Pull the rope

The first movement of the hands resembles pulling a rope.

Grab an imaginary rope with both hands so that one arm is extended parallel to the floor, and the other is bent at the elbow and the fist is at the level of your neck.

Pull the imaginary rope to the other side - now the other arm should be extended parallel to the floor.
- Return your hands to their original position by pulling the rope to the other side.
- Now intercept the imaginary rope, changing the position of the hands to the one with which you started.
- Pull the rope from one side to the other.
- Return your hands to their original position by pulling the rope again in the other direction.

The arms in this movement work synchronously with the legs, that is, with the first step we grab the rope, then we close the legs and the arms go the other way, and then we open the legs and the arms change their position again.

You can use absolutely any volume of hands - place them wide or, conversely, hold them in front of you close to your chest.

2) Drum sticks

The next form of hands is very simple - as if you are hitting imaginary drums with sticks.

Pick up imaginary drumsticks and hit them on imaginary drums. At the same time, the arms should be bent at the elbows, and the forearms should be parallel to the floor.

Cross your arms.

Then "open" your arms again, returning them to their original position.

Similarly, this arm movement works in sync with the legs. When you take a step, you hit the drums for the first time. “Closing” your legs, cross your arms and, “opening” your legs, “open” your arms.

Hands can be closed or open - as you like. You can customize the movements however you like. Most importantly, stay structured.

Now we will combine all the movements of the legs and arms to get a full-fledged tone wop.

On the count of “one”, place your left foot forward in front of you, but not wide - as if you just took a step. Simultaneously with the step, grab an imaginary rope with both hands so that one arm is extended parallel to the floor, and the other is bent at the elbow and the fist is at the level of your neck.

- On the count of "one", raise your right leg and place it on the floor, while hitting imaginary drums with imaginary sticks.

- On the count of two, open your feet, connecting your heels and moving your socks away, and return your hands to their original position.

We remind you that any movement must be done with some kind of dance. Choose the state that is closest to you while dancing, warm up, feel the rhythm of the music, and only then begin to perform the movements.

2. Brooklyn dance (Bk bounce)

First, let's look at the name of the movement. It is easy to guess where this movement originated - hence the word Brooklyn. Bounce, on the other hand, means "pump" - this is swinging by smoothly bending the knees.

"Kach" can be trained as follows: slightly jump up and, landing, gently bend your knees. Do this several times - you should feel that you are bouncing like a ball, only smoothly and gently.

Leg movements

On the count of "and" spread your legs wide.
- On the count of "one", cross them in a small jump.

On the “and” count, turn your feet inward, as you did in the tone wop movement - the toes and knees should come together, and the heels, on the contrary, move away.
- On the count of "two", "open" the feet by turning them to their original position.

When performing leg movements, do not forget about the "pump" that we talked about at the beginning. Make movements smoothly.

Hand movements

On the count of "and" swing, stretching your arms behind your back and straightening your back.

On the count of “one”, gently bend your elbows, swaying down in this position. The hands should be approximately at chest level.

- On the count of "two", again gently bend your knees and arms at the elbows, swaying down in this position.

Connecting the movements of the legs and arms

- On the count of "one", cross your legs in a small jump and gently bend your elbows, swaying down in this position. The hands should be approximately at chest level.

3. Kriss cross

On the count of "and" in a small jump, cross your legs so that the right leg is in front.

On the count of "one" in the jump, spread your legs.
- On the count of "and" in the jump, cross your legs so that your left leg is in front.
- On the count of "two", spread your legs again in a jump.

It is very important that the legs are not straight, otherwise the movement will seem wooden. When you land, the legs soften at the knees and work with just the bounce we talked about in the Bk bounce move.

You can superimpose any hand movements you want on the kriss kross movement. You can even use the ones you learned in previous movements - tone wop and Brooklyn dance (Bk bounce).

4. Bundle of all three movements

Now we will connect all the movements that you learned in today's lesson.

First comes the tone wop:

On the count of “one,” place your left foot forward in front of you and grab an imaginary rope with both hands so that one arm is extended parallel to the floor and the other is bent at the elbow.
- At the expense of "and" "close" the feet so that the socks are connected, and the heels move away from each other, and drag the imaginary rope to the other side.
- On the count of "two", "open" the feet by connecting the heels and moving the socks away and pulling the rope again.
- On the count of three, place your right foot forward in front of you and pull the rope.

- On the count of five, lift your right foot and place it on the floor, while hitting imaginary drums with imaginary sticks.
- At the expense of "and" "close" the feet - the socks should connect, and the heels should move away from each other - and cross your arms.
- On the count of "six", "open" the feet, connecting the heels and moving the socks away, and return the hands to their original position.
- On the count of seven, lift your left foot and place it on the floor, while hitting the drums with your sticks.
- At the expense of "and" "close" the feet.
- At the expense of "eight" "open" them.

On the count of “and”, spread your legs wide and swing, stretching your arms behind your back and straightening your back.
- On the count of "one", cross your legs in a small jump and gently bend your elbows, swaying down in this position.
- On the "and" count, turn your feet inward, as you did in the tone wop movement, and swing your arms.
- On the count of "two", "open" the feet, turning them to their original position, and again gently bend the legs at the knees and arms at the elbows, swaying down.
- At the expense of "and" swing again.
- On the count of three, cross your legs and sway down.
- On the count of "and" turn the feet inward.
- On the count of "four", "open" the feet.

Your legs are still crossed, now move on to kriss kross:

At the expense of "and" in a small jump, spread your legs.
- Cross your legs on the count of "one".
- At the expense of "and" again in a jump, spread your legs.
- On the count of two, cross them.
- At the expense of "and" again spread your legs.
- On the count of three, cross them.
- At the expense of "and" spread your legs.
- On the count of four, jump high, crossing your legs in the air and landing on your feet wide apart.

Now get down on your knees to make the connection more interesting.
- On the count of "one" with your knee, place your left foot on the floor.
- On the count of "two", lower the second knee.

On the count of three, lift your left leg off your knee.
- At the expense of "and" raise the right.
- On the count of four, in a small jump, get to your feet, putting them together (before you go down, we advise you to stretch a little).

Each movement can be varied as you like. But on one condition - if you have mastered the basic form.

So, today you learned three basic hip-hop dance moves. In the next lesson, we will talk about other equally interesting elements. Stay on Slenergy! ;)

We express our gratitude to the FORMA dance studio for filming.
